Tales' New Mobile Game, Tales of Luminaria, Launches in November

Tales of Luminaria, the latest mobile entry in the Tales franchise, hits IOS and Android devices on November 4, 2021. Pre-registration for the game is currently open for anyone that wants to get a head start.

Tales of Luminaria is a brand new story-focused Tales game that, unlike the last release Tales of Crestoria, brings back the franchise’s trademark action combat. The game boasts 21 different playable characters, each of which brings their own unique point of view. Seven characters will be available at launch including Leo, Celia, Lisette, Yelsy, Falk, August, and Alexandra.

The official Tales of Luminaria Twitter has been releasing trailers introducing each character, as well as a handful of music tracks composed by Go Shina. Here’ an overview of Luminaria’s story via the official website,

“Long ago, this land was home to beasts the size of mountains that have now become petrified. Mana overflowed from their remains, drawing people who sought its power, and civilizations sprang up. People came to revere these mana-producing creatures, which they named “Primordial Beasts”. They built their lives around them. Thus began the worship of the Primordial Beasts. Time flowed eery onward, to the present day…

War erupts between the Jerle Foundation, an alliance of countries who worship the Primordial Beats, and the Gildlan Empire, which has enjoyed explosive development thanks to advanced technology. The fires of war burn ever brighter. Federation knights-in-training, imperial soldiers, and adventurers who owe allegiance to neither side…. 21 very different people weave the story of their bonds, and the paths they forge through a turbulent age. Will their varying outlooks lead them to hidden truths about the world?”

An anime adaption of Tales of Luminaria is also in the works, made by Kamikaze Douga, the studio behind JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure. The anime doesn’t currently have a release date.
