The future of Mini LED TVs starts now as TCL opens up pre-orders for the QM6K and QM7K in Canada.
Following TCL’s debut of the QM6K and QM7K at the CES in January, where CGMagazine got to see the range first hand, the TV series is now available to pre-order in Canada. The new QM6K and QM7K feature the TCL Halo Control System for advanced colour and light processing, along with new QD-Mini LED screens designed to deliver exceptional picture accuracy, with screen sizes ranging from 55 to 115 inches.

Expanding the TCL QD-Mini LED TV series, the QM6K is positioned as an affordable premium option, while the QM7K is a high-performance model. The latest Precise Dimming series offers higher peak brightness, HDR and the Halo Control System, which enhances colour and grayscale accuracy while reducing blooming. A Super High Energy LED chip provides high brightness with increased light efficiency, while a Super Condensed Micro Lens enables precise light control due to a narrower light path. In addition, a Micro OD reduces the optical distance between the backlight and diffuser plate, ensuring crisp quality without blooming, halo effects or overlapping LED lights.
The new TCL QD-Mini LED models feature enhanced backlight technology with a high-contrast HVA panel, delivering up to five times the native contrast. Enhanced QLED technology also combines a new colour optimization algorithm with quantum crystals to improve colour accuracy.
TCL uses Zero-Delay Transient Response to eliminate the lag between the input signal and backlight response, removing after-image blur and enhancing specular highlights for premium picture quality. The QD-Mini LED series also integrates the Halo Control System, which includes a bi-directional 23-bit backlit controller with more than 65,000 levels of brightness per LED. It’s paired with a Dynamic Light Algorithm that optimizes video content, rendering SDR signals at near-HDR quality.

Breaking down what each TV has to offer, the affordable premium QM6K includes the Halo Control System, up to LD500 Precise Dimming, high HDR brightness, 144Hz refresh rate, Game Accelerator 288, TCL AiPQ Pro Processor, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual:X, IMAX Enhanced and AMD FreeSync certifications, Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode, Sleep Sounds Mode, hands-free voice control, Onkyo 2.1 speaker system, Google TV, and a slim FullView 360 bezel-less design.
The TCL QM6K Series is available to pre-order from Best Buy at an MSRP of $899 for 55″, $1,099 for 65″, $1,599 for 75″, $2,499 for 85″, and $5,999 for an XXL 98″.

Moving on to the high-performance QM7K, this TV is equipped with the Halo Control System, up to LD2800 Precise Dimming and HDR3000 brightness, a Crystglow HVA panel, TCL AiPQ Pro Processor, 144Hz refresh rate, Game Accelerator 288, Filmmaker Mode, Dolby Vision IQ, IMAX Enhanced and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification, Bang & Olufsen (2.2) speaker system, Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X, backlit remote, hands-free voice control, Art Mode and Art Gallery, Google TV, and a slim bezel-less design with a pedestal stand (available for 65″ to 85″ models).
