For those who have been holding out for TMNT: Splintered Fate to get a console-specific launch on Nintendo Switch 2, you’re in luck. Super Evil Megacorp has taken to the internet today to announce that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is headed to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 16.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate (Switch) Review

TMNT: Splintered Fate launched to a “Very Positive” reception by players and critics alike on Steam, giving the turtles another significant notch in the win column of recent releases that have won over fans. CGMagazine’s review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate calls it “a finely crafted roguelike,” adding, “it’s also one of the best takes on the franchise in recent memory and an instant contender for its best video game.”

Fans who have already purchased a copy of TMNT: Splintered Fate and have since upgraded their Nintendo Switch console to the Nintendo Switch 2 can upgrade their copy for $2.49. This will grant players access to the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the title, and all of the functionality included with the successor console. While fans will still have the ability to join a couch co-op session on the same console, now fans will also be able to team up using Nintendo Switch 2’s GameChat and GameShare functionality.

GameShare will allow players to connect with other Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch 1 consoles in the same room to play together using their own devices. GameChat (a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive feature) will let fans extend the living room to the internet by connecting with friends directly over Nintendo Switch Online, while still allowing others in the room to pick up a controller and get in the game locally.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is landing on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 16.
