Bandai Namco has officially kicked off TEKKEN 8‘s Season 2 DLC pass with the return of an original fighter, Anna Williams.

Anna, twin sister of Nina Williams, joins the roster of the Game Awards’ Best Fighting Game of 2024 as its 37th combatant overall and is available now for 72 hours of early access for players who own one of the Season 2 DLC passes (the Character Pass, the Character & Stage Pass, Deluxe Edition, or Ultimate Edition). She’ll then be available to all players on April 3, alongside the rest of the Spring DLC update.

The assassin known as “Scarlet Lightning” is still seeking revenge against her twin (her “inferior half”) in TEKKEN 8‘s Story Mode. To this end, she’s taken up a new weapon—an explosive yet compact cannon she’s christened “Lovely Tom.” Her gameplay trailer gives a taste of the over-the-top chaos this transforming weapon brings to her moveset.

TEKKEN 8 updated to version 2.00.01 alongside the start of Season 2, bringing a wealth of changes under its hood, including tweaks to Ranked Match’s scoring and matchmaking, a special stage and new settings for Practice mode, rebalancing for the Heat System, and looser inputs for throw counters. Likewise, all characters received tweaks to their movesets—largely buffs.

TEKKEN 8 Season 2 will also include a cross-promotion with Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land, as well as a special stage to commemorate PAC-MAN‘s 45 anniversary in the summer.

Later, Anna will be joined in the Season 2 pass by three more characters; one will be a brand new challenger, while the other two are returning faces, like Anna, who will make their TEKKEN 8 debut. Where the new face will fall in the schedule is yet to be seen, but Bandai Namco will roll out one new fighter in the summer, autumn, and winter.

Since Season 1 ended with a bang via the return of Heihachi and the unexpected arrival of Final Fantasy XVI protagonist Clive “what the hell is cosplay” Rosfield, as well as returning veterans Eddy and Lidia, expectations are pretty high for the second round.

TEKKEN 8 is available now on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Steam.
