Following a surprise episode last night, Disney announced the final season of The Bear will be coming to Disney+ this summer.
Hulu’s The Bear Season 5 will see the conclusion of the series as Sydney and Sugar are left with the responsibility to keep The Bear running after Carmy’s departure from the restaurant at the end of season 4. The final season of The Bear will debut with all eight episodes this Thursday, June 25, at 9:00 p.m. ET on Hulu through Disney+.
The reveal of The Bear season 5’s release date was preceded by a surprise episode drop on Disney+ last night. Gary is an hour-long flashback episode written by and starring Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie and Jon Bernthal as Mikey. The episode shows a new side of the pair as they travel on a delivery trip in events before Mikey’s death, which resulted in his younger brother Carmen “Carmy” inheriting the family restaurant that would one day be turned into The Bear, kicking off the events of the series
The Bear started with massive success in 2022, its first season holding an astounding 100% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes, with season 2 following up with a 99%. With seasons 3 and 4 seeing ratings drop to the 80% range, we can only wait and see if the series sends off as strongly as it began.
Alongside Carmy and Richie, the series also stars characters played by Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Ricky Staffieri, Oliver Platt, Will Poulter and Jamie Lee Curtis in recurring roles.
