Fans of the award-winning comedy-drama The Bear will be excited to learn that the series will continue into its fifth season.
Announced via press release, following the debut of The Bear’s fourth season, FX has picked up the fifth season of the acclaimed Emmy-winning comedy. No official release date was given for the series’ fifth season; however, it is set for a tentative July 2025 release—falling in line with the show’s current release schedule.
“‘The Bear continues to be a fan favourite worldwide and their response to this season—as seen through incredibly high viewership—has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons,” said Landgraf. “Year in and year out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”
The Bear was named an AFI Television “Program of the Year” for each of its first three seasons, and recently won 11 Emmy Awards for its second season—the most wins for a comedy series ever in a single year. The show has also garnered award nominations and/or wins from the Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, and several others.
If you haven’t seen the show, The Bear is a psychological comedy-drama following the life of Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, played by Jeremy Allen White, who inherits his family’s Italian beef shop after his brother, Michael, played by Jon Bernthal, takes his own life. CGM’s Dayna Elieen proclaimed the show as, “hard look at the restaurant industry while relaying a deep story about family, loss, addiction and mental health.”
Season four of The Bear, which premiered with all 10 episodes on June 25, 2025 is currently rated 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. All episodes are currently available to stream on Disney+.
