In the first shocking reveal that night, the first trailer for the newest entry in the Divinity saga was debut for the world.
Announced during The Game Awards 2025, Divinity is a brand-new dark fantasy RPG in the award-winning franchise from Larian Studios. While the trailer wasn’t heavy on details, it did feature a ton of style and horrific atmosphere. No details were given on whether this will be a new entry in the series or a continuation of Divinity: Original Sin.
The trailer for Divinity showcased a terrible festival where men, women, children and several fantasy races celebrated before monolithic effigies. However, these statues were apparently a sacrifice to some terrible powers, as demonic creatures began pouring from the searing flesh of the man being sacrificed within the totems. The trailer ended with the statue that had been teased by Geoff Keighly on social media in the week leading up to The Game Awards 2025.
The Divinity series began back in 2002, and has since had seven entries in the franchise—ending with Divinity: Original Sin II in 2017. Larian has seen newfound success in their fantasy RPGs since the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2023. This upcoming Divinity is claimed to be Larian’s “biggest game ever, even bigger than Baldur’s Gate 3.”
No release date was given for Divinity, but fans can check out Larian’s official website for details when they become available.
