Back to school is coming fast, and to celebrate the end of August, Krispy Kreme is partnering with Harry Potter to bring magical treats to shops for a limited time.
Fans of Harry Potter and Krispy Kreme are about to be enchanted (for a limited time).
Krispy Kreme announced an exclusive collaboration with the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Hogwarts, to celebrate the incoming school year with magical flair. The new donut ‘collection’ features a selection of Krispy Kreme donuts shimmering in Hogwarts House banners. The Krispy Kreme Collection pays homage to the four houses of Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. The last of the limited donut lineup embodies a design consistent with Hogwarts’ resident loud-mouthed head cover, The Sorting Hat.
Chief Brand and Product Officer for Krispy Kreme, Alison Holder, said, “We’re channelling the beloved magic of Harry Potter and the Houses of Hogwarts for a collection that is truly bewitching,” adding, “But the magic is fleeting, and so are these doughnuts, so don’t miss your chance to try them!” The limited run of donuts will also give fans a chance to score a free doughnut at Krispy Kreme on August 23. In the middle of the event’s promotion, participating Krispy Kreme shops will give any fan who represents their favourite Hogwarts house one free Original Glazed doughnut. Fans dressed for the occasion don’t need to make any purchase; just show up and get a magical donut for free.
While there are a total of five unique donuts in the Harry Potter Krispy Kreme collection, there will also be a Golden Snitch latte that fans can try out in the duration of the collaboration, an interesting deviation from the normal Butterbeer-based recipes that have been rolled out in previous collaborations (there’s even an entry on Starbucks’ secret menu).
The Harry Potter Krispy Kreme collaboration will run from August 18 until September 14, and they will only be made available at participating U.S. and Canadian Krispy Kreme shops. Fans looking for the shop carrying these magical treats can visit the map locator on the Krispy Kreme website.
