Expanding on the LEGO lineup, the LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company have announced their newfound partnership, bringing buildable Pokémons to fans in 2026.
From playing Pokémon on the Game Boy to the Nintendo Switch, collecting cards and watching Ash finally become a Pokémon League Champion after 25 years, fans will soon be able to build Pokémon brick by brick. Combining two beloved franchises, LEGO and The Pokémon Company have partnered to create new ways to experience Pokémon in 2026.
This is major news, as the only way fans could previously build Pokémon was through Mattel Mega Bloks. With excitement high among LEGO and Pokémon fans, LEGO Group chief product and marketing officer Julia Goldin stated: “We are thrilled to be working with a brand that has such a deep and passionate fanbase as Pokémon, partnering to give our joint audiences what they have been asking us for. We strongly believe that through the endless possibilities of LEGO play and the exciting adventures the world of Pokémon brings, this partnership will create a range of new possibilities for Trainers and builders alike.”
Adding to Goldin’s statement, The Pokémon Company International chief product and experience officer Gaku Susai shared: “The LEGO Group and Pokémon have strong shared values of imagination, creativity and fun, making this the perfect partnership to deliver unique, meaningful and engaging ways for Trainers to experience the Pokémon brand. Working with the best-in-class team at the LEGO Group and seeing their dedication and passion for the project has culminated in an innovative and groundbreaking collaboration that will surprise and delight fans. We cannot wait to see both LEGO fans and the Pokémon community’s reactions in 2026.”
Continuing to build its partnership with Nintendo’s beloved IPs, LEGO has announced their upcoming LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart on MAR10 Day. Available on May 15, 2025, the set features Mario driving his iconic kart that debuted in Mario Kart 7, a welcoming set for many adults to relive their childhoods.
Although not much information was shared about the LEGO and Pokémon Company Collaboration, fans can visit the LEGO website as they anticipate the 2026 release. Hopefully, I can build my favourite Pokémon, Rayquaza, someday.
