The Sandbox and Jurassic World Collaborating To Create New Games And Experiences For Fans

The Sandbox has announced a collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences and Amblin Entertainment to bring Jurassic World to the metaverse.

As part of the upcoming Alpha Season 5, The Sandbox, Universal Products & Experiences and Amblin Entertainment are working together to introduce Jurassic World to the metaverse with new games and immersive experiences. During the collaboration, fans can unlock limited-edition collectibles inspired by Jurassic World, featuring playable characters, dinosaurs and wearables.

The Sandbox is a metaverse game focused on social interaction, creating experiences and owning virtual land. From attending concerts to completing quests, players can meet others, personalize their avatars and build games, as well as sell NFTs. The Sandbox has collaborated with Ubisoft, Care Bears, Hell’s Kitchen, Warner Music Group and more.

Following the announcement, The Sandbox co-founder and CEO Arthur Madrid stated: “Jurassic World is one of the most iconic franchises in the world, tapping into the excitement and thrill of coming face-to-face with dinosaurs, and we’re excited to launch a new collaboration to bring Jurassic World into The Sandbox. Gamified experiences are the future of how fans want to interact with their favourite brands, and this collaboration allows us to deliver exactly that.”

The first game available in the collaboration is Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve. Set in a dinosaur sanctuary in Arizona, players take on the role of a Dinosaur Protection Group member, ensuring the facilities run smoothly by exploring, collecting and completing quests. Players can also collect a limited quantity of dinosaur eggs to hatch and evolve rare species, such as the Tyrannosaurus and Velociraptor. Each visit to the sanctuary will be unique, with different variables, events and new challenges.

The Sandbox co-founder and COO Sebastien Borget shared: “The metaverse can bring our childhood dreams to life. Who hasn’t been fascinated by dinosaurs since they were a kid? Now, you can explore experiences in The Sandbox alongside them or even create your own adventures inspired by those from Jurassic World. I’m sure these creatures that capture so much of our imagination will leave a giant footprint in the virtual world.”

At the start of April, fans can purchase virtual real estate with SAND, the platform in-game currency. To enhance your Jurassic World experience, Premium LAND owners in the new neighbourhood can receive a Creator Asset Pack with collectible digital dinosaurs and props. 

Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve will be available in The Sandbox: Alpha Season 5 this March. Players interested in learning more about the partnership or pre-registering for the game season can visit the pre-registration page.
