It has been another busy week in the Mobile Gaming sector as we head into October and spooky season next week. As far as new releases go, the hit indie deck-building game Balatro has finally made the jump to smartphone mobile devices and has proven a hit placing #1 in strategy, and #1 overall in games on the iOS app store, but that’s not all that happened this week. HoYoverse gave fans a notable update filled with information for the upcoming Genshin Impact version 5.1 (including a new stylized trailer for the continuing adventure in Natlan), and the mobile gaming show hosted by Ben Starr took place on Thursday, with lots of news for mobile gamers to sink their teeth into.

Genshin Impact Version 5.1 Arrives Next Month!
The Genshin Impact version 5.1 details have been officially announced for the latest patch, and the title has been revealed as The Rainbow Destined to Burn. This is the first update since Natlan was introduced to the world of Teyvat and HoYoverse is giving fans further continuation of the Archon quest. This includes the introduction of more key characters in the storyline, quality of-life updates and more.
- Xilonen will be included as a playable character in version 5.1, and he will launch as a 5-star Geo sword user with unique healing support when teamed up with Hydro, Pyro, Electro or Cryo characters. He will also buff resistances for the party as well, making him a support juggernaut.
- A seasonal event will be introduced called the Sabzeruz Festival adding more reason to explore Sumeru in version 5.1. Other events will link to banners such as the returning 5-Star Dendro catalyst-user Nahida will have a birthday celebration (and her banner called The Moongrass’ Enlightenment Banner), and other mini-games will be playable.
- 400 extra Primogems for completing Natlan World Quests and completing Natlan Exploration progress.
- Another banner, The Moment of Bloom will feature 5-Star Pyro polearm user Hu Tao.
- Other quality-of-life updates such as a Spiral Abyss skip feature will be added.

All of the mobile gaming goodness added to Teyvat will be a part of version 5.1, including five new events that will land in the version. Fans can explore more information on the official HoYoverse website.
Mobile Gaming Show – All Of The Exciting Announcements
The Mobile Gaming Show aired on Thursday, hosted by Final Fantasy XVI‘s Ben Starr, and it revealed many upcoming releases for smartphone and tablet platforms, including exciting ports of existing console games such as The Game Kitchen’s critically acclaimed Metroidvania, Blasphemous. - Developer CCP Games confirmed that Eve Galaxy Conquest will be released as a free-to-play title for Android and iOS devices on October 29, 2024.
- Age of Empires Mobile gave fans an exciting new look under the hood, and Senior Game Designer Peter Hu boasts the mobile game will feature everything fans love about the full-sized adventure but in your pocket. It will launch on October 17.
- Songs of Conquest previously only available on PC will be making its way to mobile gaming sometime in 2025.
- Hello Kitty Island Adventure has shown off its 2,0 update featuring new characters, a new City region and new events that are playable now exclusively on Apple Arcade.
- The developers at UsTwo gave fans an update regarding their upcoming Monument Valley 3, including philosophy and design choices when making their titles.
- Another mobile gaming offering from NetEase, Dunk City Dynasty puts players in the laced-up shoes of a coach of their very own three-player street basketball team. The title will be free-to-play and allows players to take control of some of the biggest faces in basketball. The new title will launch in 2025.
- Warframe Mobile will be getting a Warframe 1999 content inclusion as a free update in the Winter, including a new campaign questline which will star Ben Starr himself.
- Gordian Quest originally released to a positive reception in 2022 on PC will be making its way to mobile devices in the Winter 2024.
- Cassette Beasts will also be making its way to mobile devices later this year.
