Tides of Annihilation Shows Off 11 Minutes of New Gameplay

On Friday, Eclipse Glow Games’ new title Tides of Annihilation extended the reveal made earlier in the week and showcased 11 more minutes of gameplay.

Tides of Annihilation has just been revealed in this week’s PlayStation State of Play, and today, Eclipse Glow Games has revealed another 11 minutes of gameplay in a new video aimed to show audiences how Annihilation plays. The video showcasing the new gameplay beats has been posted by IGN, and it can be seen below.

Tides of Annihilation is set in a dystopian version of London, and players will walk in the footsteps of the capable protagonist Gwendolyn. Gwendolyn is London’s supposed last resident, and as she navigates the hostile environment, she will learn to wield otherworldly powers to help her confront dangerous adversaries. Gwendolyn has the power to summon ten knights based on Arthurian legends, and two of these Knights of the Round can be deployed at a time to help during combat. The restriction on limiting players to the two-knight-at-a-time approach appears to enforce strategic decision-making during every encounter.

The gameplay trailer also reveals Gwendolyn not only engages with massive knights that now roam the ruined London landscape, she can climb them similarly to Shadow of the Colossus or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild‘s Divine Beasts, and these adversaries seem to operate as both levels to solve and boss fights to defeat. Another feature present in Tides of Annihilation is the ability to traverse worlds. Players will go from the modern landscape of dystopian London to the fantasy realm of Avalon in an adventure to save loved ones and even reality itself.

Tides of Annihilation is still in development, and fans can head to the Eclipse Glow Games website for more information.
