TMNT: Splintered Fate Launches New Metalhead DLC Alongside a Big Free Update

The latest character added to the roster of TMNT: Splintered Fate is none other than Metalhead, and starting today, players can return to the sewers with his tactical approach.

The previously announced sixth character, Metalhead, is joining the roster of TMNT: Splintered Fate today. This will be the second addition to the roster after Casey Jones was added back in February 2025, and Metalhead joins the roster as a long-range tactical specialist. Metalhead deploys a moveset complete with a mighty laser cannon (that can demolish foes from far away), and land mines that erupt with deadly effect once touched by an enemy.

The previous characters on the roster of TMNT: Splintered Fate have their own playstyles, with Leonardo functioning as the well-rounded jack of all trades, Raphael as the aggressive damage dealer, Donatello as the defensive specialist, and Michaelangelo filling in as the crowd controller. Casey Jones was added shortly after launch as the resident ‘glass cannon,’ who acts as a high-risk, high-reward character that deals a lot of damage to enemies, but also takes a lot in return.

Metalhead comes in as a tactical specialist designed to push back enemies with long-range play. When enemies get too close, he can deploy mines to stop advancing enemies and get to a safer location. This could be a boon for new co-op scenarios, as one character can engage the enemy up close, while a co-op partner can effectively pick off enemies from afar.

Aside from the brand new character being added to TMNT: Splintered Fate, all players can enjoy the upgrades coming to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate’s largest ever free update. This new and free update brings a lot of new content to players. Including an all-new arcade mode (which features three new biomes), as well as over 100 audio, visual and performance improvements across the entire game.

As of the Metalhead DLC release, Super Evil Megacorp has released all of its currently announced characters for TMNT: Splintered Fate. TMNT: Splintered Fates’ Metalhead DLC can be purchased right now on all platforms, and physical editions are now available from Super Evil Megacorp. A loaded Pipin’ Hot Collector’s Edition will follow on October 24, 2025, and fans should check in with retailers if they want to secure the higher cost version.
