The first set photos from the upcoming Tomb Raider TV show have been released, showing Sophie Turner as the embodiment of Lara Croft.

In new set footage, seen walking in a forest, Sophie Turner has a classic Croft appearance, including a tactical vest, cargo pants, and the iconic akimbo guns strapped to her thighs. With grenades strapped to her belt and the classic Lara Croft hair braid, it looks like the show is taking inspiration from the more modern outfits of the Tomb Raider games. Turner was also seen performing her own stunts, including parachuting across a lake. Back in January, she was interviewed on The Julia Cunningham Show, where she discussed how intensive her training regimen was.

“We’ve been doing eight hours a day, five days a week, since February last year of training, so it’s been a lot,” said Turner to Cunningham. Turner goes on to say, “I’ve learned I have a perpetual back problem, but I also realized that it’s much easier to kind of build muscle if you’ve never worked out before in your life, which I never had, so it has taken me months and months and months to get into good shape. That’s what I’ve learned.”

Sophie previously played the role of Sansa Stark in the TV series Game of Thrones, where, in her words, she was “the one that got beat up, not the one doing the beating, so it’s quite nice to learn how to throw a punch and not just take it.” In the footage that we have, we can see Sophie Turner, or Lara Croft for that matter, walking through a rainy woodland in Surrey, England in the previously mentioned footage.

We still know very little about the Tomb Raider TV show coming from Amazon MGM, but so far, based on what we’ve seen from Sophie. It seems to be a faithful tribute to Lara’s fame and the series as a whole.
