As the sun sets on Summer Game Fest 2025, the next big gaming event, Toronto Games Week 2025 is right around the corner and 2025 will be the biggest year yet.
As the biggest gaming event of the year, Summer Game Fest 2025 shuts its doors until 2026, the next big gaming event is already here with Toronto Games Week 2025. The event will be the biggest since its inception back in 2023, and it will feature over 40 events spanning all of Toronto. Toronto Games Week is an annual celebration of playful arts and culture in the city. From video games, physical games, and immersive theatre to board games, every kind of play is included. Toronto Games Week 2025 is for the community, by the community.
Co-Founder of Toronto Games Week, Marie LeBlanc Flanagan said “This isn’t a corporate festival, it’s a collective fever dream brought to life by 75+ volunteers and dozens of organizations who believe play belongs everywhere and to everyone,” adding “Where else can you play massive video games projected onto historic concrete silos at sunset, then search for magical creatures in High Park the next morning?” on the events close-knit community-minded culture.
Included with the Toronto Games Week celebration is the Pixel PowerPlay event on June 14, another Toronto-based gaming event taking place during the week of TGW 2025. In an interview with CP24 News, one of the event organizers for Pixel PowerPlay, Steve Vegvari, spoke a bit about the importance of Toronto Games Week 2025. Vegvari said “There’s a game for everyone… Some of the best stories being told are told through video games,” continuing with “Video Games is a form of expression and art” expressing the importance of gaming culture through Toronto Games Week 2025.
During Toronto Games Week 2025, fans can play projected games on the historic Canada Malting Silos at the waterfront— where gaming meets an architectural wonder. A Secret Night Bike Parkcade invites LED-lit cyclists to pedal to a mystery location for a pop-up arcade featuring protest bike games and Molleindustria’s upcoming Solarpunk preview and much more.
Toronto Games Week 2025 will take place from June 12 until June 18, while Pixel PowerPlay will occur on June 14th. For more information, fans can head to the official TGW 2025 website to get started.
