As the community grows each year, Twitch has announced upcoming updates to improve collaboration, monetization, moderation and more.
Over the years, Twitch has evolved thanks to its many popular streamers and the massive support from the community. As the platform continues to grow with new streamers and viewers, Twitch has announced its goal to enhance collaboration, the mobile experience, monetization and more with its upcoming community updates.

Before getting to the list of updates, CEO Dan Clancy thanked the community in the latest Twitch blog, stating: “As we have done for the past two years, I want to share some of the activities and priorities we’re focused on for 2025. But before I talk about the future, I want to thank all of our streamers for yet another amazing year. The streamers who come here every day and build communities are what make Twitch a truly unique service—they’re why we exist. More than ever, in today’s world, we all want and need to find belonging and connection with other people.”
After thanking the communities, Clancy outlined the team’s goal to improve the streamer experience, help new content creators and viewers find their communities, and introduce livestreaming to more people.
The list of community updates arriving on Twitch throughout 2025 is:
- Growing Your Audience Through Collaboration – Introduce Shared Hype Train to earn more money using Stream Together or Shared Chat and the ability to use Shared Chat on Mobile devices.
- Improving the Mobile Viewing Experience – Provide landscape and vertical videos through Enhanced Broadcasting, alongside adding vertical video source into the mobile app. Lastly, the ability to use signals like chat as more recommended content is pushed to your front page.
- More Ways to Edit and Share Clips – Enhance the ability to find, edit, and share clips easier with smoother editing, highlight moments, and share content beyond the platform.
- Unlocking Monetization for Everyone – New and experienced streamers can utilize subscription and Bits to earn money from day one.
- Fuel More Creator Sponsorship – Launching a new tool this year to connect streamers and brands easier, alongside expanding the type of sponsorships.

Speaking of deals, there will be a 35% discount on the Gift Sub bundle of five or more from March 27 to 31.
- Interactive Features that Drive Community Support – Introduce a new feature to allow viewers to react to specific moments on stream with Bits and the ability to create a custom Power-ups.
- Global Expansions of Unity Guilds and Ambassador – Returning in 2025, Guilds will be expanded to include more languages, and better support for the global community. Not to mention, expanding Ambassador in many regions, including LATAM.
- Updated Enforcement System and New Tools – Providing more details if a user breaks a Community Guideline rule and expanding the moderator tools.
The biggest upcoming update is the expansion of monetization tools to both new and experienced streamers. With the ability to use subscriptions and Bits from day one, streamers can start earning immediately and reinvest their earnings on Twitch.

Following the Sponsored Subscription and Channel Skins from 2024, Twitch is launching new tools to help connect streamers and brands. One of the tools introduced is the Sponsorships tab. From their dashboard, streamers are encouraged to fill out the new Creator Profile to open up opportunities for sponsorships, whether from Twitch or external brands. With the Sponsorships tab, Twitch is exploring new types of sponsorship. Introduced during SUBtember and Bonus Round, the Matching Gift Subscription feature will be expanded.
Lastly, Twitch is doubling down on its enforcement system and introducing new tools for the moderation team. Following the launch of expiring violations in February, any account that breaks a Community Guideline rule will receive a reason for the violation, whether from a chat message or part of the stream. In addition, moderation tools will be expanded, from launching Mobile Mod View on Android to updating the Moderation Settings Page to make setting up preferences easier.
