At TwitchCon 2025, Streamlabs, one of the biggest names in streaming software, announced a revolutionary new service that will really open up the possibilities of what a streamer’s broadcast can be. The newly announced service, Stream Shift, is set to change how creators stream, and it was created based on feedback from another big name in Streaming, Tubbo.
Stream Shift allows streamers to move their stream from device to device without interruption. Creators will no longer be limited to a single setup during their broadcast as a streamer can seamlessly swap from their PC to their phone or tablet (or vice versa) to continue their stream without having to end and restart it.
To accomplish this, Stream Shift will work in conjunction with Streamlabs’ disconnect protection (which keeps you live when a broadcast loses its feed, allowing you to fix it) to allow you to sign into Streamlabs on a new device and follow the prompts to move your stream to said device. This also allows streamers to maintain a single, uninterrupted VOD for their audience.

The idea came from British Twitch Partner Tubbo, who provided feedback to the company at TwitchCon Rotterdam, expressing frustration with trying to come up with a solution to this problem, attempting expensive workarounds that wouldn’t be accessible to the everyday user. With IRL streaming becoming more and more popular, this is an opportunity to allow a streamer to step away from a gaming stream to stretch their legs, but also allow them to keep the conversation going with their chat the whole time.
Stream Shift is available now for Streamlabs Ultra subscribers working on Desktop, iOS and Android, with added support for the Streamlabs Plugin for OBS, Streamlabs Console and Meta’s AI Glasses in the near future, adding even more flexibility to a service that is sure to excite creators of all types.
