Valorant shares the latest patch notes for 10.08, offering Agent balance changes, details on the new gifting functionality, and a range of bug fixes.
Valorant is celebrating its fifth anniversary with new updates, featuring some throwbacks. Riot Games drops its Valorant 10.08 patch notes today, including details on classic music, the new gifting function, Agent rebalancing updates, and some bug fixes. As of this patch, Brimstone, Astra, and Yoru’s abilities are nerfed—some getting more nerfed than others.
New Gifting Feature
One of the most exciting features to finally arrive in Valorant is the ability to gift other players! In patch 10.08, players can now send select Featured Store bundles and items directly to their friends. Here is a breakdown of how gifting works:
- Navigate to the Store
- Open the details page for the Featured bundle or item
- Click the Gift button in the bottom-right corner
- Select your recipient (restrictions apply)
- Choose to gift the full bundle or individual items
- Send your gift!
Unlike gifting in Riot Games’ other major title, League of Legends, the gift recipient in Valorant will have the opportunity to accept or decline the gift the next time they log in to the game. Unfortunately, gifting is currently limited to Featured Store items, with expanded support planned for future updates. Like most new features, the rollout is expected to be a little slow and steady.

Agent Changes
The Agent changes in patch 10.08 bring some nerfs for Brimstone, Astra, and Yoru. On paper, Brimstone and Astra’s changes are not terrible. On the other hand, Yoru’s changes significantly nerf Yoru as a viable pick. Having his ult cost one more ult orb and a shorter ult time means Yoru players will most likely ult less, and have less time to gather information. Whether these changes will drastically change picks and gameplay is yet to be determined.
Brimstone
- Incendiary — Brimstone’s molotov audio has been updated to be easier to hear, especially when placed underneath smokes. The official 10.08 patch notes mention this change is part of a similar change to the changes on Neon’s Overdrive visual effects and Deadlock’s Barrier Mesh health states.
Astra
- Nova Pulse — Astra’s Nova Pulse stun duration is getting reduced to 3.5 seconds from its original 4 seconds. This will now match the stun duration for every other Agents’ stuns.
Yoru
- Dimensional Drift — Yoru’s Dimensional Drift is a very useful repositioning and intelligence-gathering ability, making it super powerful. To slightly nerf Yoru’s ultimate ability, the duration of Dimensional Drift is reduced from 12 seconds to 10 seconds. Also, it will cost 8 ult orbs instead of 7.

To celebrate Valorant’s fifth anniversary, players can hear some of the Episode 1 music in patch 10.08 and 10.09. This includes music for the menus, character select, and Victory/Defeat sounds. This patch note also has a reminder to grind away for this last Act of Episode Nine, as ranked gun buddies will be distributed in patch 11.00 at the start of Act IV. In case you forgot, you will receive a ranked gun buddy based on the highest rank you achieved throughout the first three acts of Season 2025.
