Valorant Masters Toronto 2025 — Tournament Format
Valorant Masters Toronto will be split into two parts—the Swiss Stage and the Playoffs Stage. Not every team starts from the same spot. G2, XLG, RRQ, and FNC came out on top in their Stage 1 leagues, so they’re skipping the first round and heading straight to the Playoffs.
Swiss Stage (June 7-11)
The other eight teams kick things off in the Swiss Stage, where only four will move on. Win twice and you’re through. Lose twice and you’re out. Every match is a Best-of-Three.
Playoffs Stage (June 13-22)
Then it’s on to the Playoffs; a double-elimination bracket where one loss sends you to the Lower Bracket, and two sends you home. Valorant Masters Toronto isn’t just about the title. Championship Points are up for grabs, and every win gets teams closer to Champions.

The Brand New Championship Point System
Championship Points are updated to make sure the whole season counts. Just like last year, teams will earn points at every stage, but this time, Riot Games is raising the stakes. They are handing out more points at Masters and Playoffs, and giving every team a fresh start mid-season by making each stage stand on its own.
Regular season matches will still award one point per win, but major events, such as Kickoff, Playoffs, and Masters, now award points to more teams. Both Kickoff and International League Playoffs will grant points to the top four teams. Masters Bangkok gave points to the top four, but Masters Toronto goes even further, more teams (top six) will earn points, and there are more Championship Points on the line overall. This should be a game changer by making each match matter more than ever.

Stories To Follow
G2 Redemption
Team Heretics and Paper Rex are fan favourite teams heading into VCT 2025—Valorant Masters Toronto. With teams returning to rewrite old stories, new teams emerge to begin their legacy. One of the biggest Americas team stories revolves around G2 Esports, who look to be the best team coming into the 2025 season, with the addition of Champions winner Alexander “jawgemo” Mor. Tragedy struck when G2 fell to T1 in a close 2-3 loss in the Masters Bangkok Grand Final. However, their regular season performance heading into Valorant Masters Toronto is still sharp and cunning.
The player to look out for on G2 is Jonah “JonahP” Pulice, who is one of the few Canadian players in the tournament. He will have the chance to hoist the Valorant Masters Toronto trophy in front of his home crowd. JonahP has been dominating at Bangkok and the regular season predominantly as an initiator. JonahP is like G2’s anchor, making the star players shine, as they secure some easy kills. His plays on Breach in Stage 1 show he is not to be messed with. His supportive performance will be a key factor for G2’s victory.
The Next Leader Out Of VCT CN
One of the most exciting teams to look at is the ones coming out of VCT China. EDward Gaming (EDG) has the longest streak of representing China on the international stages, but that is not the case this year! Who will be the best to represent China on the International Stage? XLG Esports proves they may be the best option to take up the mantle and represent the highest gameplay to see China get the major dub at an international event.
Despite being a recently Ascended team (winners who were promoted to the VCT International League), Russian duelist main Arthur “Rarga” Churyumov is the player to watch. Rarga has an impressive 0.91 KPR throughout the entire VCT 2025 – China Stage 1, second to Bilibili Gaming’s (BLG) Wang “whzy” Haozhe. Even without XLG’s anchor support player Yip “YoU” Man Ho out of the tournament for his recent past match fixing allegation, the team’s core is strong.

Speaking about BLG, they are the most experienced challengers amongst the VCT CN teams to represent at Valorant Masters Toronto. They infamously went 4-o against the great Pujan “FNS” Mehta-led NRG in what was probably the biggest upset at VCT 2023 Champions. whyz is the player to watch from BLG, shining brightly in the Chinese VCT scene, rocking the highest KPR and ACS in Stage One at 0.93 and 264.4 respectively.
Wolves Esports comes in as the third seed out of China, going into Valorant Masters Toronto 2025. Being another newcomer, there is not a lot of data on the team—which could be a great wild card team to shake up the hierarchy. Their most well-known player coming into Toronto is Liang “Lysoar” Youhao, primarily on the Sentinel role for Wolves. Lysoar is notable for his time on FunPlus Phoenix’s 2024 roster. There may be some pressure for Lysoar to lead this team of young, hungry pro players like primary duelist Tyler “juicy” Aeria.
Revenge of the Fish “benjyfishy” Vs. Paper Rex
The biggest story to keep your eyes peeled for is the Team Heretics versus Paper Rex revenge plot. One of last year’s top matches to watch was at VCT 2024 — Masters Madrid. That final map being on Split provided so many highlights. The most talked-about moments came from Benjy “benjyfishy” David Fish’s A site Cypher setups, which earned him 3k after 4k against the attacking Paper Rex while taunting his opponents—specifically yelling across the stage at Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha.
benjyfishy and Team Heretics may get to set the record straight at Valorant Masters Toronto 2025. This will be the first match to kick off the huge Canadian event, really setting the tone for the rest of the tournament. Numerous teams have something to prove.
