The Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct aired on Wednesday, and Blizzard Entertainment lifted the veil on what’s coming to each of its popular Warcraft titles.
As the Warcraft universe approaches its massive 30th anniversary, Blizzard Entertainment unleashed a slew of developments surrounding titles based in that universe in yesterday’s Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct stream. The Direct itself reflected on the legacy of Warcraft and its many titles, but the main point was to celebrate players by revealing what’s to come for each title set in the Warcraft universe. Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct Key Announcements

- WORLD OF WARCRAFT (Modern) – On November 23, WoW celebrates 20 years of exploring Azeroth, and the first major content update for The War Within, titled Undermine(d) (11.1), launches early next year. The content update will take players to the subterranean goblin capital of Undermine as players continue to chase Xal’atath to foil her plans.
- Two new delves will be added and current delves will receive thematic updates.
- One new dungeon will be added and available in the Season 2 Mythic+ pool, along with the remaining four launch dungeons and three legacy dungeons.
- A new ground mount specially engineered for high-speed traversal within the Goblin city will also be added to Undermine(d).
- A new 8-boss raid pitting players against Gallywix and his allies throughout the city of Undermine will be added.
- Player housing has been announced to come to Midnight at a TBD date during the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct.
- WORLD OF WARCRAFT CLASSIC – Mists of Pandaria Classic will invite players to explore this beloved expansion as it was when it was first released in 2012 (with notable changes). The Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct also announced a highly requested feature from WoW Classic players, 20th Anniversary Edition Realms will give Classic players a ‘fresh start’ to World of Warcraft including Hardcore server options.

- HEARTHSTONE – The Hearthstone team revealed their plans for the next three expansions. The first expansion, the Heroes of Starcraft mini set invites the Protoss, Terran and Zerg to the tavern of card games, and this mini-set will have 49 new cards across three themed factions showing what the StarCraft universe would look like in the Hearthstone Tavern. The team explained what’s coming next with the first expansion of the year, The Emerald Dream, including opening the doors to the newly overhauled Underground Arena. Lastly, players will journey back into Un’Goro Crater to explore The Shrouded City, before concluding the year with a journey through alternate realities in The Heroes of Time.
- WARCRAFT RUMBLE – is celebrating its first anniversary by coming to PC, and a beta will launch on December 10th. The PC release of Warcraft Rumble comes with a new feature called Split Leaders.
- WARCRAFT RTS – A new Warcraft Battle Chest has been announced for the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct and is available for players to dive in and explore the origins of the Warcraft Universe with some modernizations and quality-of-life changes. The dynamic-pricing bundle (which lets players only pay for what they don’t have) will give players access to the following titles (including quality of life changes): Warcraft: Orcs & Humans Remastered, Warcraft II: Tides of War Remastered and Warcraft III: Reforged.
