The Wholesome Snack 2024: The Game Awards Edition aired earlier today, and here is a recap of all the games that were announced.
The annual virtual showcase, hosted on YouTube and Twitch, highlighted a range of games that are artistic, uplifting, and emotionally resonant, created by developers of all sizes from around the world. The event featured exclusive announcements from 24 independent developers and renowned publishers. It was hosted by Wholesome Games organizers Jenny Windom and Victoria Tran, alongside other creators, including Arief Johan, ChiChi, Eeowna, FuanAndGames, FierceAxolotl, KiwiOnTheSticks, Milady Confetti, Miss Bubbles, and Sarah Sunstone.

Some of the biggest highlights showcased at the Wholesome Snack 2024: The Game Award Edition are NAIAD, a relaxing exploration game about flowing by the river and is now available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Steam. Other games included are Pine: A Story of Loss, developed by Made Up Games and published by Fellow Traveller, releasing on December 13 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile devices, and jump into the demos for Aikyam, a fantasy RPG inspired by Bollywood and River Towns, a puzzle city builder.
With the abundance of video games announced at the Wholesome Snack 2024: The Game Award Edition, here is the list of games you can look forward to:
A Waddleful Life

Developed by Shaky Shrub Games, step foot into the world of A Waddleful Life, as you take on a role as a duck and raise your ducklings. As you explore and have fun with your ducklings in a small and quiet park, you will guide them to help them grow from tiny hatchlings to their first flight. As of now, the release date has not been revealed but A Waddleful Life will be released on PC (via Steam).
Aikyam

Aikyam welcomes the players to dazzle the hearts of disgruntled villagers with its turn-based battles and rally them against the demons in the Bollywood-inspired fantasy RPG. Developed by Thousand Stars Studio, there will be a demo available for PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
Capy Castaway

Developed by Kitten Cup Studio and published by Big Blue Sky Games, the players will embark on an odd adventure with a capybara pup and a smart crow as they set off to find their way home. In Capy Castaway, you will be sniffing, digging, and exploring the many worlds bursting with wonder, and challenges, and forging a wholesome friendship at every turn. Capy Cataway will be released on PC (via Steam) and will be Steam Deck verified.
Despelote

Despelote, developed by Julián Corder and Sebastian Valbuena and published by Panic, is a soccer game about people, as the players get immersed in the streets and park of Quito as an eight-year-old Julian. As you dribble, pass, and shoot your soccer ball in the town and meet other people, feel the city change as Ecuador comes closer to qualifying for the World Cup. Despelote will be released on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox in 2025, with the Wholesome Snack showcases unveiling the game will also be arriving on the Nintendo Switch.
Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping

From Happy Broccoli Games, take on the role of a Duck Detective to quake the case of the spookiness striking a luxurious campsite. In the world of Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping, you will need to inspect evidence, make a de-duck-tion, and solve this no-murder mystery case. So far from what is known, Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping will be released on Steam in 2025.
Little Rocket Lab

Little Rocket Lab was developed by Teenage Astronauts and published by No More Robots. Playing Morgan, she is an aspiring young engineer returning to her childhood town called ‘St Ambrose’ to live with her aunt and help finish building the rocket her mother has always dreamed about. Alongside building the rocket, you will be meeting people around the town, forging friendships, and researching and unlocking new mechanical parts to develop the most eager and efficient machines. Little Rock Lab will be released in 2025 on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X|S, Steam and will be Steam Deck verified.
Locomoto

From Green Tile Digital comes Locomoto, the players will get to renovate, decorate, and build out a dream train to connect with to bring happiness to the residents of the stations along the way. For those who are excited, Locomoto will be arriving on Steam in 2025.
Loftia

Loftia, developed by Qloud Games, is a cozy farming and social MMO game about working together with others to build a better and more sustainable future. During the Wholesome Snack showcase, Lofita introduced Neighborhoods, a new feature that allows players to attach their floating island to others, forming a small community of islands around the center. With the new feature, players can farm together, visit their friend’s homes, host events, and create a community outside of the main Loftia city. Loftia will be released on the Nintendo Switch and Steam in 2025.
Lou Lagoon

Welcome to Lou Lagoon, explore the Limbo Archipelago as you search for your Uncle Lou who has mysteriously vanished and left you his seaplane delivery service. Developed by Tiny Roar and published by Rokaplay and Megabit Publishing, you will get the explore the island, gather resources, and improve your crafting skills to complete jobs and grow your business. With the release date not announced yet, we do know that the game will be released on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Steam.
NAIAD

For those who are into a relaxing game and embarking on an adventure in a colourful setting, NAIAD has arrived in time as it was revealed to be released during the Wholesome Snack showcase. Developed by HiWarp, the players will flow with Naiad across the river shrouded in mystery, and interact with its fauna and flora to uncover a little secret. NAIAD will be available for PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation, but for those in Europe, it will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on December 23rd.
Piece by Piece

Step into the world of Piece by Piece as you take on the role of a little fox who runs a repair shop, fixing, building, painting and reselling many curious items from a model cat to binoculars. Developed by Gamkat and published by No More Robots, grip onto the townsfolk’s stories, battle them in a game of ‘Bear, Fish, Bee’, and grow plants to create pigments for paints to help decorate your newly fixed item. Piece by Piece will be released soon for consoles and PC (via Steam).
Pinbleton Park

Developed and published by Turtlesoup Games, the world of Pinbleton Park has become a giant pinball table with the support of the spirits who dwell in the village shrine. You will need to help out your neighbours, gather the lost spirits, and craft the world into the perfect pinball table. Pinblenton Park will be available in 2025 for PC (via Steam).
Pine: A Story of Loss

Pine: A Story of Loss is an emotional game, following a story about a woodworker alone in the first meadow he shared with his wife but now struggles to accept her passing. Developed by Made Up Games and published by Fellow Traveller, helps the woodworker hold on to his cherished memories of their loving memories as he struggles to care for himself in the time needed and his empty home. Pine: A Story of Loss will be released on December 13th for the PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
River Towns

River Towns is an upcoming new puzzle city builder developed by Frogsong Studio and published by Metaroot and Stray Fawn Publishing. The players will need to solve puzzles by placing buildings and creating vibrant districts, as each district has its own style and shape, making every level a challenge and unique. River Towns will be released in Q2 of 2025, but there will be a demo available to download as of right now.
Rusty Retirement

Developed by Mister Morris Games, Rusty Retirement is an idle-farming simulator. You run the game in the background while working on other tasks and taking care of your farms. Simply plant your crops and watch as Rusty gets to work as he waters, nurtures, and harvests for you so you can use the crops to produce clean and energy-efficient biofuel, a vital power source for the robots. Not to mention, deploy a team of hardworking and cute robots to assist you and Rusty in planting, watering, and harvesting. Rusty Retirement will be released on December 10th for PC (via Steam), alongside a free content update available as the game goes live.
Sky: Children of the Light

Available on PC (Via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, App Store, and Google Store, Sky: Children of the Light is a peaceful and award-winning MMO from the creators of Journey, thatgamecompany. The players will explore a kingdom across the seven reals, creating a refining memories with other players in the puzzle-adventure game. With the Wholesome Snack showcase, thatgamecompany has unveiled a new seasonal event for players of the Sky: Children of the Light can look forward to.
Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley Fuddler’s Courtship DLC

Developed by Hyper Games and published by Raw Fury, Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is a story-rich musical adventure game about Snufkin restoring the valley and assisting the unique and memorable characters and animals. There has been a series of hideous parks that have arisen in Moominvalley, disrupting the landscape and its nature. As Snufkin, you will need to distract the police officers, pull out signs, and knock over the misplaced statues to restore nature and inhabitants’ homes, putting an end to the industrious Park Keeper’s plans.
During the showcase, it was announced the game will be receiving a DLC called Fuddler Courtship. Set in the late summer as it turns into fall, the Moomins are heading out for a final camping trip before Snufkin embarks on his annual leave-the-valley and the Moomin family hibernates.
Spirit Swap: Lofi Beats to Match-3 To

For the lovers of the Lo-fi music genre, be sure not to miss out on Spirit Swap: Lofi Beats to Match-3 To, developed by Soft Not Weak. the game will have players casting spells as a queer artist and crashing the biggest concert of the year, as it is an action-puzzle game set in a narrative-driven world with witchy demons. The musical Spirit Swap: Lofi Beats to match-3 To will be available in 2025 on Steam.
Star Birds

Star Birds is an asteroid base-building and resource management game developed by Toukana Interactive. Uncover and mine many asteroids while creating a production of networks and guiding your colony of space-farming birds to a new interstellar horizon. Releasing in 2025 for the PC (via Steam), the Wholesome Snack showcase has shared a new mining, building, and star map gameplay that will be arriving at Star Birds.
Sugardrew Island

Sugardrew Island, developed by rokaplay, is a farming game in which player will run their farm shop in a cozy manner. Take care of your animal and farm, sell your goods to the Forest Folk, upgrade your island and fulfill orders from the Harmony Tree to fill the island with life again. Arriving on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation, Sugardrew Island showcases a new gameplay feature, focusing on the relationship and romance you can have as you run your farm to care for the many animals.
Tales of Seikyu

Set in the world of Yokai, Tales of Seikyu will have players harness their powers of transformation to manage their farm and explore the world, build a bond with many islanders, and discover the secrets of the Seikyu. Developed by ACE Entertainment and published by Fireshine Games, Tales of Seikyu will be released on PC (via Steam) in Spring 2025.
TOEM 2

Developed by Something We Made, the players return into the shoes of a curious photographer and set off on a new adventure about uncovering hidden details, assisting friends along the way, and documenting the world’s little wonder in TOEM 2. The game will be available soon on Steam for players to return to the world of TOEM.
Winter Burrow

Winter Burrow is a survival game about a mouse returning home to restore their childhood burrow. Developed by Pine Creek Games and published by Noodlecake, explore and gather resources to craft, knit warm sweaters, bake pies, and meet the locals. During the Wholesome Snack showcase, Winter Burrow, released in 2025 on Steam, unveiled a new NPC, biomes, crafting items, and a first glance at the light/dark mechanic to navigate the dark forest areas at night.
Wylde Society

Step foot into the period drama sim as you take on the role of Vivian Wylde who is a witch, socialite, and innkeeper in Wylde Society. In the game, the players will need to build, run and customize their magical boarding house in Fairhaven, alongside hosting events, expanding their witchcraft, and influencing the town. Developed by Studio Drydock, Wylde Society will be released on Steam in 2025.
Before wrapping up, Wholesome Games announced they will be partnering with Humble Bundle yet again during the Wholesome Snack showcase. Portions of the proceeds from the bundle of seven games will be going toward the World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization that focuses on providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.
