Moonshot Games’ upcoming cooperative PVP game Wildgate will feature an expansive special edition alongside the standard launch.
CGM was invited to a digital preview with the developers of Wildgate, where they excitedly announced the Wildgate: Renegade Edition. The Renegade Edition will contain 17 exclusive items—including seven character cosmetics, four unique ship styles, a unique helm, probe, processor and many others. The Renegade Edition will retail for $49.98 and will include both the base game and Renegade Pack; however, the team did specify players can purchase the Renegade Pack separately.
Wildgate is set to launch on July 22nd, 2025, and the team is planning a suite of post-launch support for the game. “We really see Wildgate’s launch as our foundation,” said Moonshot studio head Jason Chayes, adding, “there’s a lot more we’re excited to bring to the game. There are a lot more ideas we have about cool things to come in the months and the years to follow.”
Such additions will include bi-weekly updates that introduce a new Point of Interest, Artifact type, Hardpoint type and Hazard type. Also in the coming months, Wildgate will be bringing its first Season, which will introduce a new Prospector (playable character), weapon and equipment, Reach anomalies and cosmetics alongside the game’s “Adventure Pass.”
Chayes also specified that the Adventure Pass isn’t like other Battle Passes, saying, “these don’t actually rotate out, so you don’t have to; there’s not going to be as much FOMO to complete everything before it goes away. The adventure pass will stick around, and it’s something that you can keep working towards…” Seasons are also set to connect to the game’s broader narrative.
Wildgate is a crew-based shooter where four teams of five players compete against each other to get their hands on a mysterious and valuable artifact. Players will work together to both pilot a massive spaceship through various parts of “The Reach” and fend off attacking crews, or attempt to raid their ships. The game is set to launch across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
