MachineGames is reportedly starting motion capture for Wolfenstein 3 later this year, according to a casting call; it’s codenamed “Valkyrie” and will introduce a new character.
It has been nearly seven years since Wolfenstein: Youngblood launched, and fans have been left mostly in the dark regarding any type of confirmed continuation of the franchise. A new report from MP1st today details a casting call for the supposed Wolfenstein 3 and corroborates last month’s reports that the Sweden-based Bethesda studio (MachineGames) has started work on the title following the completion of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle (and DLC).

In a recent interview with GamesIndustry, Studio director Jerk Gustafsson said, “Our intention has always been to go back to Wolfenstein. We wanted to finish the trilogy. And when we do that, I don’t want to comment on it. It can be now, it can be later, but we’re not done with it. That’s what I can say,” regarding the potential next entry in the series.
The details revealed today come from a casting call for a project codenamed “Valkyrie.” The project is reportedly linked to the same performance and casting directors who worked on previous MachineGames titles, including performance director Tom Keegan and casting director Emily Schweber. The casting call is for a character named Sofiya, which could reference Zofia Blazkowicz, the mother of main protagonist and Nazi hunter William “B.J.” Blazkowicz.

The new character, who has not previously been mentioned in the series, is described as a Ukrainian orphan between the ages of eight and 11 who forms a bond with William and accompanies him on his travels with her dog, Ralph. According to MP1st, performance capture is scheduled to begin in April 2026, with additional shooting dates extending into 2027. If accurate, that timeline would place the alleged Wolfenstein 3 in the middle of production.
With everything said and the details seeming to line up with a trilogy release, fans should take the news with a grain of salt, considering neither Bethesda nor MachineGames has made a formal announcement.
