A World of Warcraft Midnight teaser has shown the ramifications of the gathering Void Storm threatening Azeroth, with a full reveal happening at gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live.
Blizzard has uncorked a teaser right before the official reveal of their newest expansion, Midnight, coming to World of Warcraft.
While CGMagazine calls The War Within a “return to form,” the results from that expansion’s base storyline have set up the Void Storm, and antagonist Xal’atath’s vengeance after having her plans thwarted (and subsequently disappearing) at the end of The War Within. The teaser warns Azeroth and the real world that a massive reveal is coming with a particularly inclement weather condition sighted over the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. This is almost next door to where gamescom ONL 2025 will take place next week. That teaser can be seen below.
Gamescom 2025 is scheduled to roll out the red carpet for World of Warcraft Midnight and the first Housing update coming to Azeroth. At gamescom 2025, fans will be able to get their hands on the Housing system for the first time since its announcement at BlizzCon 2023. During gamescom 2025’s runtime (Wednesday through Sunday), the Community Stage at the World of Warcraft booth will feature non-stop WoW programming, including developer panels, developer meet and greets, a cosplay contest, creator spotlights, eSports competitions and interactive sessions designed for the attending community. Blizzard is also preparing to reveal the Midnight opening cutscene, so fans can be prepared for what’s in store when Midnight officially drops.
