Earlier this week, Xbox unveiled plans for its next-generation consoles, announcing a major partnership with AMD to help bring them to life. AMD’s CEO has since commented on the collaboration, calling it the “future of immersive gaming.”
Microsoft publicly confirmed it is working with chip manufacturer AMD on its next-gen consoles, sharing the news in a post on X (formerly Twitter). In the announcement, Xbox president Sarah Bond said: “Our vision is for you to play the games you want with the people you want, anywhere you want.” She added: “That’s why we’re investing in our next-generation hardware lineup across console, handheld, PC, cloud and accessories,” referring to what Xbox and AMD call a “strategic multi-year partnership… to co-engineer silicon across a portfolio of devices.” The original post can be seen below.
Following the announcement, AMD has released a video featuring CEO Dr. Lisa Su discussing the company’s new partnership with Xbox and what it means for the future of gaming. In the video, Su states: “AMD and Microsoft are advancing a bold shared vision for the future of gaming—one that enables seamless gameplay across any screen, placing gamers at the centre of the experience anywhere.” She continues: “We’re so excited to be deepening our relationship with Microsoft and building on more than two decades of partnership, innovation and trust, from the earliest days of the Xbox 360 to the most advanced consoles.”
This includes the newly announced ROG Xbox Ally announced at SGF 2025. The CEO’s comments can be seen in the AMD YouTube video below.
AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su and Xbox president Sarah Bond appear to share the same vision for the future: “seamless gameplay across any screen, placing gamers at the centre of the experience anywhere.” This echoes and expands on Bond’s original message from February 2024. Earlier this week, Bond stated: “Together with AMD, we are advancing the state of art in gaming Silicon to deliver the next generation of graphics innovation, to unlock a deeper level of visual quality and immersive gameplay and player experiences.”
After AMD CEO Su’s comments on the partnership, it appears both sides are all-in on making new gaming experiences.
