Previously, Xbox Cloud Gaming was relegated to games on Xbox Game Pass, but this week Xbox has extended the service to owned games in a player’s library.
It has been a big week for cloud gaming. The launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (which functions in tandem with Xbox Cloud Gaming), and PlayStation Portal launching a beta for PlayStation Cloud gaming without the need for a PS5 are two big developments in the cloud, but Xbox has decided to take it one step further. Xbox players can now “stream their own game” in their owned game library (without the need for installation to save onboard console memory) straight from the cloud. Xbox Cloud Gaming has released a list of 50 titles that can now be streamed without an additional download, or cost outside of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
