This weekend, Microsoft has revealed the Free Play Days titles for Xbox Game Pass and they’ve also removed the $1 trial for game pass with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launching this week.
This weekend’s Xbox Game Pass Free Play Days titles have been unveiled, and just before the weekend starts, fans can check out which titles they’d like to try ahead of the big weekend. Microsoft has also slyly removed the $1 trial for Game Pass, considering the massive Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is launching this week.
Xbox Game Pass Free Play Days Titles

- NBA 2K25 – The latest entry in the NBA 2K franchise comes to game pass free of an extra charge for the weekend. Fans should note that they will need to have a whopping 161GB of data to download the title, even for the weekend trial, and it’s likely hitting the free play cycle to bolster hype for the impending NBA season, which starts next week.
- Dying Light – Keeping with the horror motif of October, Xbox Game Pass unleashes Dying Light for free over the weekend so horror fans can get their zombie slaying fix free of charge (for two days at least). Other notable horror titles on Game Pass include Supermassive’s The Quarry and the upcoming release of Phantasmophobia for Xbox on October 29. Dying Light will cost your internal storage 72GB.
- Exocross – A racing simulator that takes players into the future to participate in an extraplanetary racing championship taking place on the planet Proteus. This boost-powered title will take up only 5GB of storage on consoles.

In other Xbox Game Pass news, another day-one title, the upcoming Thunder Lotus game, 33 Immortals, has received a significant delay before it enters early access and has now been pushed into early 2025 from the previous 2024 release date. Thunder Lotus says, “The game needs a little bit more time in the oven before it’s ready. We’re making great progress, but this year has really flown by! We still want to iron out a few unexpected challenges with stability and address the valuable feedback we received from you during testing,” regarding the title.

Lastly, eagle-eyed subscribers to the Xbox Game Pass platform have noticed Xbox has removed the $1 14-day trial incentive for players to give the service a try. This isn’t the first time Xbox has pulled the $1 trial, they also quietly removed the incentive last year when Bethesda’s Starfield launched, and just like that big release Xbox took down the trial period on October 8, weeks before Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 drops. This will be the first time a Call of Duty Activision title launches day one on Xbox Game Pass, and Microsoft is likely looking to increase their subscriber number count instead of offering the usually $70 title for $1 to try for 14 days.
