Bethesda has announced DOOM the Dark Ages at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, giving us a look into the brutal and chaotic game.
Doomslayer has returned to rip and tear demons in the underworld in the upcoming installment of the beloved DOOM franchise, DOOM the Dark Ages. But you won’t just rely on guns and fists to take them down, as in the new installment, you will be using a shield to shred the demons into pieces!
In DOOM the Dark Ages trailer, we see Doomslayer don the fur cape as he grabs hold of his trusty shotgun and shields before he slams into the underworld to take down the many demons. This time around as he shoots down the demons with his shotguns and a wide variety of guns in his arsenal, we can see him blocking projectile by using his shield but not only is it used for blocking, but used to throw to hit the multiple demons as if it’s Captain America shield.
Besides the gameplay, we are shown what players could expect from the world and level design as it looks quite stunning, and the demons, as usual, look quite wicked yet amazing. To traverse around the world, the player can fly on the dragon across the underworld and as a way to take on giant demons, Doomslayer can use a giant mech against them.
With how much is shown in DOOM the Dark Ages, this looks very promising and quite amazing for longtime DOOM fans. It would be interesting to see how fans use the arsenal to their advantage to take down the underworld’s demons!
