As more accessories continue to roll out for Xiaomi’s smartphone line, the company has just debuted a Pocket Photo Kit for the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2—and yes, it prints.
At the Xiaomi October Launch Event, the smart device developer announced a brand new lineup of smartphones, including the Xiaomi 15 Pro flagship model. However, they didn’t reveal many accessories beyond the Xiaomi Watch S4, which can pair with other devices in the Xiaomi ecosystem.
Today, that changes with the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Pocket Photo Kit, which attaches via USB Type-C and prints peel-off photos, similar to a Polaroid. The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is Xiaomi’s answer to the popular Motorola Razr Ultra 2025—except it’s currently the only foldable device to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, the same CPU found in the flagship Xiaomi 15 Pro.

Peel-apart photos have become trendy with the nation’s youth over the past few months, with Global Times reporting that the highly sought-after Polaroid-like photo style has become “a new favourite in the photography scene.” The format has gained popularity due to its lack of editing and perceived “authenticity” in capturing a moment, which may explain why Xiaomi has rolled out the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Pocket Photo Kit. According to Global Times, “a single piece of the peel-apart film costs nearly 400 yuan ($55),” and prices continue to soar.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2’s version of a printable peel-apart photo attachment is designed to integrate with the smartphone to produce printed, pocket-sized moments at a price Xiaomi has set at 2 yuan (approximately 30 cents) per print, according to Weibo. Notebookcheck reports that “it works using ZINK sublimation technology rather than ink, and has upgraded to provide Leica watermarks” for the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2.
While the price of Polaroid film continues to skyrocket as popularity surges among Chinese authenticity seekers, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Pocket Photo Kit is available for 699 yuan (roughly US$98).
