On Tuesday, Xiaomi finally pulled back the curtain on the teased Xiaomi October Launch Event, bringing many new tech options including the flagship Xiaomi 15.
On Tuesday, the Xiaomi brand unleashed one of its biggest domestic launch events of the year, officially introducing the Xiaomi 15 Series, Xiaomi Pad 7, and Xiaomi HyperOS 2 to Mainland China. It’s worth mentioning that currently, everything revealed in this article is also only available in China as well.
The Xiaomi October Launch Event also introduced consumers to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, featuring the advanced second-generation 3nm process, PC-level dual primary core architecture, and includes two second-generation Oryon super cores, sharing the same foundation as the Qualcomm flagship PC platform (Snapdragon X Elite). The Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform is exclusively introduced alongside the Xiaomi 15 flagship series smartphone also unveiled at the Xiaomi October Launch Event.
Xiaomi October Launch Event – The Xiaomi 15 Pro Flagship Smartphone
- The Xiaomi 15 Pro comes in four colourways, the Gray, White, Green and special Silver edition as pictured above.
- Includes the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, bringing performance many steps forward for the Xiaomi brand. The Snapdragon 8 Elite brings CPU performance increases by 42% and GPU performance by 44%, the largest jump in performance over the past decade.
- Battery capacity has been increased by 1220mAh when compared with the previous generation, with a whopping 6100mAh.
- Xiaomi 15 Pro is equipped with three Leica large-aperture lenses that cover focal lengths from 14mm to 120mm, making it versatile for various styles from portraits to landscapes.
- Equipped with the new Xiaomi HyperOS 2, upgrading the experience with notable AI inclusions, and new HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI features and functionality.
Xiaomi 15 – “The Ultimate Compact Flagship” Features
- The Xiaomi 15 revealed at the Xiaomi October Launch Event will be available in Black, White, Green, and Purple, and features a quad-curve middle frame design with clean edges for a friendlier feel.
- Features a large 5400mAh battery, a notable improvement over its predecessor.
- Sports a 6.36-inch display with an ultra-narrow 1.38mm bezel, making this smartphone the option for those who want a thinner and more compact experience than the Xiaomi 15 Pro.
- Includes a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz.
- Also includes Spandragon 8 Elite functionality.
- Has Xiaomi 15 Custom and Xiaomi 15 Limited Edition optionality: The Custom Edition offers a black-and-white high-gloss frame and three colour palettes for users to explore. Xiaomi has created 20 custom colour options that can be freely combined with the frame to create 40 colour combinations.
- The Xiaomi 15 Limited Edition is designed with premium in mind revealed at the Xiaomi October Launch Event. The middle frame is inlaid with an eco-cultivated diamond. The back panel is made from nano-tech vegan leather material and is available in three colours: White, Gray, and Orange.
Xiaomi October Launch Event – Xiaomi Pad 7 Series Features
- Comes in a Xiaomi Pad 7 or Xiaomi 7 Pro for consumer choice. The Series is designed for AI-enhanced office productivity.
- Both models boast an 11.2-inch 3.2K flagship screen with a new 3:2 aspect ratio, featuring an all-metal design that allows the user to go mobile without worry the device will not make it home.
- The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro houses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and the Xiaomi Pad 7 houses the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, respectively.
- Both devices utilize Xiaomi HyperOS 2 UI functionality, and the new pad devices will be available in three colourways: Black, Green, and Blue.
All of the devices mentioned at the Xiaomi October Launch Event featured the new Xiaomi HyperOS 2 UI upgrade, which will make its way to other Xiaomi devices starting November 2024. Xiaomi HyperAI comes with each device as it’s embedded in the Xiaomi HyperOS 2. The functionality upgrades the AI experience with user-friendly functions, creating a dynamic user experience. Xiaomi HyperAI is used to analyze depth in user-selected videos frame by frame, creating cinematic depth effects on lock screens. HyperOS 2 also reshapes system applications with AI and AI writing lets users quickly refine or extend text on-screen.
The functionality featured at the Xiaomi October Launch Event extended to AI sound recognition enabling transcribing and identifying speaker-specific audio in calls, recordings, or meeting apps, generating accurate summaries.

- Xiaomi Mesh System BE3600 Pro – a new mesh router system that includes a main router and secondary unit, creating a robust Mesh network that covers a 160-square-foot area, and supports up to 10 devices.
