XREAL has announced its mission to bring augmented reality and spatial computing to the global consumer market across Europe, Asia, and the U.S.
Known for delivering augmented reality peripherals such as the XREAL Air Glasses and Beam, XREAL has reinforced its commitment to bringing AR and spatial computing to global consumer markets by securing an expansive new retail deal across Europe, Asia, and the U.S. Leading sales through XREAL.com and Amazon, the company achieved an industry-leading 47.3 per cent market share for the global AR industry in the first half of 2024. This retail expansion marks a significant increase in XREAL’s worldwide sales presence.
To better understand XREAL’s plans for expanding retail across these regions, here is the breakdown:
XREAL retails in Europe

XREAL will extend its partnership with Smartech Retail Group to scale its retail presence in luxury department stores across Europe and the U.S. in 2025. Expanding from a single store in London, XREAL will soon be available in five stores, adding locations in Paris, Berlin, Rome, and New York City. This expansion follows the brand’s success at Smartech’s flagship store in Selfridges London, where the XREAL Air 2 Pro AR glasses became one of Smartech’s best-selling new products, with sales on par with the PS5. XREAL doubled its sales forecast within the first month, leading to increased shipments from the manufacturer.
In September, XREAL products became available at Smartech Berlin in Germany’s KaDeWe store, Smartech Paris in Printemps, and Smartech Rome in Rinascente. With a grand opening planned for 2025, XREAL will be the star attraction at Smartech Times Square in New York City.
XREAL retails across the US

To reach customers in person across the U.S., XREAL will partner with Micro Center to bring its products into more than two dozen Micro Center stores nationwide. Operating 28 large stores in major markets, Micro Center hosted a retail trial this summer at its headquarters-adjacent store in Columbus, which was a massive success, with XREAL products quickly selling out and meeting customer satisfaction. As part of the expansion, Micro Center will carry a range of XREAL products in stores across California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia starting this October.
XREAL retails in Japan

In Japan, XREAL is committed to enhancing the customer experience by making its products easily accessible across the country. Through a collaboration with SoftBank C&S, XREAL has successfully expanded its presence across six major retail channels, with products now available at BIC CAMERA, Yodobashi Camera, EDION, Joshin, Kojima, and Sofmap stores nationwide. With this growth, XREAL has installed 46 unique experience zones across Japan, including 45 BIC CAMERA locations with experience zones in 21 stores, 24 Yodobashi Camera locations with experience zones in 11 stores, and additional experience zones in six other retail stores.
Leading Shipments for the AR Industry

The XREAL Air series is setting the standard for all-day-portable AR glasses, featuring best-selling models such as the XREAL Air, XREAL Air 2, XREAL Air 2 Pro, and XREAL Air 2 Ultra. With ambitions to expand its retail presence, XREAL is kicking off with the Air series and plans to bring future generations of glasses to market. According to IDC data from the first half of 2024, global augmented and extended reality saw a year-over-year growth of nearly 29%. In the same period, XREAL recorded an impressive 62.1% year-over-year growth in shipments, securing an industry-leading 47.2% market share in the augmented and extended reality sector.
Additionally, XREAL held more than 2.6 times the market share of the closest AR industry competitor, which accounted for less than 18% of the market in H1 2024. Notably, in Q4 2024, XREAL was the only augmented and extended reality company to rank among the top five global companies in market share for the broader AR/VR industry. It also ranked in the top five ASVR companies by shipments for five consecutive quarters, making it the only augmented and extended reality company to break into the top five.
