Disney has kept its cards close to their chest regarding Zootopia 2 until today, with a new trailer showcasing a big returning cast and Nick and Judy’s entry into partner counselling.
One of the biggest surprises from Disney in 2025: Zootopia 2 has finally launched its first trailer, featuring the mystery-solving duo of Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman) in a brand new type of confrontation, partner counselling. Both of the heroes of Zootopia were thrust unwillingly into the session; Chief Bogo (voice of Idris Elba) ordered them to join the Partners in Crisis counselling program to strengthen their partnership. The first trailer for Zootopia 2 can be seen below.
Disney Animation Chief Creative Officer, Scriptwriter, and Director Jared Bush tells fans they’ve only seen the beginning of Zootopia‘s world. He says, “We are beyond excited to welcome everyone back to the outrageous, expansive animal metropolis of Zootopia, and take audiences on a hilarious, wild ride into parts of the city we’ve never visited before,” he was elated to tell fans that Nick and Judy will be meeting up with returning cast, and all-new friends on their new mission.
Judy and Nick will find themselves (and their partnership) put to the test when they find themselves at the whim of a venomous snake (voice of Ke Huy Quan), Gary De’Snake, in the animal metropolis. The arrival of Gary is as mysterious as his motives, and it’s up to Nick, Judy, and a slew of returning characters to get to the bottom of it.
