Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Daima Adventures Through The Demon Realm – Part 2, as the name suggests, is the long-awaited latter half of the Dragon Ball Daima downloadable episode for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, bringing with it a condensed down version of the latter half of the 20-episode anime series.
Now, I say condensed down, but in truth, Part 2 of the Daima-focused story DLC for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot does a great job in retelling the events of the 2024 anime, with better pacing afforded by the immediacy of it being a video game. Coupled with the sparingly, but gorgeous in-game cinematics, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Daima Adventures Through The Demon Realm – Part 2 is one of the best ways to experience Akira Toriyama’s final contribution to Dragon Ball.

Let’s get straight to the point. If you have already played the first part of the DLC chapter, you will likely need little convincing. For those who have been waiting for both parts of the Daima content to be released in full before deciding whether to jump in, there is good news. As with previous downloadable content for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, the Adventures Through the Demon Realm saga is well worth a playthrough.

Picking up where the first episode ended, following the defeat of Tamagami Number One, Part 2 has players face him once again, this time with added flair. The encounter serves as a strong reintroduction to the game’s combat systems, while delivering flashy action sequences and set pieces that feel fresh and help set the tone for what comes next. As expected, the latest DLC closely follows the events of Dragon Ball: Daima. In gameplay terms, this translates into several new biomes for Goku and his allies to explore, including the second and third Demon Realms, as well as a Planet Namek-like region where players are introduced to Neva.

Like previous DLC episodes and the main game itself, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s Daima Adventures Through the Demon Realm Part 2 introduces a range of side content. This includes training missions to unlock new moves, hidden chests to discover and expanded areas that were not shown in the anime, along with a solid selection of side quests. Fortunately, most of the side activities in Part 2 feel organic and well-written, making them plausible additions to the canon events of the story. Some quests involve helping Hybis, the endearing Majin character, recover his missing charm following the ship crash at the start of the game, while others task players with clearing out remaining Gendarmarie tanks and artillery units.
As for Majin Kuu and Duu, Part 2 unfortunately does not include a playable fight against the latest iterations of the Majin characters. Instead, their confrontation is relegated to a cutscene before the DLC moves quickly toward its endgame. I also found myself wishing more characters had playable moments beyond the focus on Goku and a brief segment with Vegeta. That said, the brisk pacing ultimately works in the DLC’s favour, resulting in a more concise experience where lighter moments land just as effectively as the over-the-top action sequences.

When it comes down to it, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Daima Adventures Through the Demon Realm Part 2 accomplishes what it sets out to do. It delivers a faithful interactive adaptation of the anime, allowing fans of the source material to relive some of its most exciting moments. The game leans heavily into power fantasy, letting players step into the roles of Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta and SSJ4 Goku in ways that feel true to their on-screen portrayals. As licensed games go, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot continues to stand out, expanding on the base game’s already familiar story by spotlighting meaningful and often overlooked corners of the broader Dragon Ball universe.
“Dragon Ball Daima felt like the rectification of Dragon Ball: GT.”
In many ways, Dragon Ball Daima felt like the rectification of Dragon Ball: GT, but like many modern anime releases, especially within the shounen genre, waiting weekly can make the experience feel slow, whereas games like Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot give fans’ a better paced and immediate dose of action that makes content like Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Daima Adventures Through The Demon Realm a journey worth taking.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Daima Adventures Through The Demon Realm – Part 2 is now available as stand alone DLC, while new players can also buy the complete Daima edition of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which includes all the dlc made available for the game thus far.
