Beats Fit Pro Earbuds

Brutalist Review Style (Version 2)

Every tech company has a pair of headphones. Ten years ago, the idea of wireless earbuds was just coming to fruition with the release of the Onkyo W800BT, the first true wireless headphones. Fast forward to 2025, and companies have all embraced the wireless era, with wireless earbuds becoming the standard instead of an upgrade. This is where Beats continues to innovate with their latest Beats Fit Pro earbuds. As pioneers of sound since 2006, the Beats Fit Pro emerged as one of the best options on the market with a blend of sound, style, ANC, and the ability to hang on to the user during the most strenuous workouts.

First impressions are important, and Beats takes note. The Beats Fit Pro come packaged with the charging case, the buds themselves, six size-changing silicone ear tips to tailor the device to the user, and a small charging cable. The Beats Fit Pro, unfortunately (like nearly every Apple product), have given up on including a wall charger, but at this point, it’s expected.

The Beats Fit Pro earbuds are incredibly stylish at first glance, and the Electric Yellow colourway explodes into the retina and makes a statement like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles font (in colour and pop). The bud case is textured slightly to keep users from dropping them, and each earbud is outfitted with a wing on the back end to help keep them securely in the user’s ear.

One thing is made abundantly clear: the Beats Fit Pro are comfortable headphones, and after two minutes of wearing them, I truly forgot they were there. My previous pair of Beats Studio Buds did not have the texture or wing attachments on them. I’m not saying this is why I dropped the case as often as I did, but the texture helps the buds stay off of the floor.

On the flip side, the earbuds have two silicone wings strapped to the drivers —I always think of the Greek God Hermes’ ankle wings— to keep each bud inside of your ear during the harshest tasks. This is true worn innovation. Not only do the headphones themselves have the same texture as the outside case, but they also fit securely and snugly in the ear without issue.

The previous wing-less older brother fell short in this regard, so whenever I would go for a run and work up a sweat, the right headphone would always hop off the bus before our stop on numerous occasions. This time, the Beats Fit Pro spent the entire length of workouts/runs inside of my ear and not on the ground.

The Beats Fit Pro earbuds are not billed as a gaming accessory, but I used them for my Nintendo Switch, and they work seamlessly. Any device that utilizes Bluetooth can connect easily straight out of the box. With the new H1 chip on board, when you connect the Beats Fit Pro to multiple devices at once, the system detects where it’s being used and automatically switches without further intervention.

Audio sharing between two pairs is also made simple, and I was able to check out the latest Linkin Park album from my brother’s iPhone 16 without effort. Sharing sound between his Apple AirPods and the Beats Fit Pro just worked. This is a big-time feature I didn’t think I would ever use, but I utilized it often when friends had to show me something real quick’ (provided they have an iPhone).

In 2014, Apple purchased Beats audio, but the newest version of Beats are fully compatible with other non-Apple ecosystem devices, allowing Android to get in on the party. Although the advanced features mentioned above don’t work with AndroidOS, once the Beats App is installed on the Android device (like a Google Pixel), all functionality works just like when using the iPhone.

The Beats Fit Pro also come with three distinct listening modes: Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), Transparency Mode, and Adaptive EQ, which all can be toyed with in the App for AndroidOS, or just in the iPhone settings. My favourite of these three modes was the ANC. With the comfort level delivered with the Beats Fit Pro and the high-quality seal the buds provide the ANC is some of the best in the business. Like the Alienware Pro Headset, the Beats Fit Pro provide a balance of comfort and ANC that I was able to doze off with.

But how is the sound? I’m happy to report the Beats Fit Pro elevate the company’s standard of listening by a wide margin. Beats deploys a dual-element driver in each earbud, providing a new level of stereo separation which gives the user access to some of the ‘hidden sound’ in each musical track. The dual-element driver, in cooperation with spatial audio and dynamic head tracking, makes these buds tag team champions of sound. Some of the more complex musical sounds burst through the drivers into your ear making it feel as if your body is surrounded by the music instead of it just being in small earhole speakers.

“The Beats Fit Pro are the ideal peripheral for listening.”

High-octane musical mayhem like Lamb of God’s Ashes of the Wake sounds further remastered when using the Beats Fit Pro, and it’s easy for audiophiles to differentiate the lead guitar from the rhythm while listening. Softer melodies like the Forest Maze in Super Mario RPG on the Nintendo Switch are clearer than ever before, and it feels like emphasis is placed on the contagious triple note finish in the opening seconds.

It’s worth noting the Beats Fit Pro battery life does take a notable hit when using the ANC feature as often as I do (all the time). On a full charge, each bud lasts approximately 5.5-6.5 hours on a single charge without returning to the case. The case itself holds a charge from full to 0% for around 18 hours of listening (with multiple bud revivals). With ANC activated, their life goes down significantly. At one point, the left earbud died three hours after being removed from the case. While the ANC does stop slammed weights in the gym background from sending me into a near coronary, it saps the life from the earbuds quickly.

The Beats Fit Pro are the ideal peripheral for listening. Beats went back to the drawing board and made their listening devices superior by instituting innovations up and down the board starting with a simple texture change on the outside case, to a massive H1 chip inclusion letting earbuds work with the Apple voice companion Siri.

Audio clarity is pristine when utilizing ANC, and genres from heavy metal to happy town music are heightened more than ever. However, battery life could be an issue for users who forget to charge their headphones often (only if ANC is active). The Beats Fit Pro earbuds bring the sound to users efficiently enough so each person listening can find the right fit for them.
