Being a gamer and travelling as frequently as I do, I am constantly searching for an outlet and pushing power-saving mode to the limit. When I saw the Belkin Charging Case Pro for Nintendo Switch 2 announced at CES 2026, I had never been so excited about something so simple, and I told anyone who was willing to listen to me. Though the Switch 2 has drastically improved battery life compared to its predecessor, getting through a long-haul flight is still a struggle, and I fly a lot. Though it isn’t without some caveats, the Belkin Charging Case Pro has absolutely made it to my must-have-for-travel list for the foreseeable future.
So what makes a Nintendo Switch 2 case so special? The Belkin Charging Case Pro for Nintendo Switch 2 is not only a protective case for your precious new console, but it also contains a battery pack strong enough to keep your Switch 2 topped up, and even charge it to full when not in use. Another handy addition is a small bar attached to the charger that doubles as a stand for your Switch 2, allowing you to play with a controller while the device charges.

Belkin made some smart design choices to complement the docking capabilities. There is an LCD screen on the outside of the case with a button that lets you check the remaining battery life. This is also where you will find the USB-C charging port, capable of delivering up to 30 watts of power. The battery and dock component is completely removable, so if you want to dock and play in a small space, you can tuck the case away entirely.

Of course, it would not be a Switch case without room for game cartridges. There is also a small netted storage pocket; however, I found it quite limited in size. You could likely fit an extra Joy-Con or two, but it struggles to hold much else, even my ultra-thin Bluetooth controller, though I did manage to close it. I would not recommend doing that. The Belkin Charging Case Pro for Nintendo Switch 2 is a hard-shell case and comes in three colours: Charcoal, Sand and Pistachio Green. Personally, I prefer Charcoal, as it is less likely to show marks or stains than the lighter options.
The Belkin Charging Case Pro’s battery is a 10,000 mAh pack that supports up to 30-watt fast charging. There are a few ways to use it: charge and play, or charge while storing. Most of the time, I used the Charging Case Pro to maintain power while playing the Switch 2 docked to the charger. Using this setup, I drained about 27% of the case’s battery during a two-hour session. The following hour saw another 21% drop.

Even with the increase in consumption, while the Switch 2 was connected to Wi-Fi and playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, I would be able to get another 6-8 hours, keeping the Nintendo Switch topped up to 100% before needing to start draining the console’s battery.

Alternatively, you can use the Belkin Charging Case Pro for Nintendo Switch 2 to charge your device on-the-go, between play sessions. I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly I was able to charge the console. In about 1.25 hours, I charged the Nintendo Switch 2 from 35% battery to full. Starting at 97% battery in the case, I ended the charge at 53%, meaning the Belkin Charging Case Pro for Nintendo Switch 2 used 44% of the battery to charge 65% of the Nintendo Switch 2 in rest mode.
This is fairly on par with what Belkin says the Charging Case Pro can do, boasting 1.5 full Switch 2 charges. Charging the case is also a pretty impressive experience with the Belkin Charging Case Pro charging almost 40% in an hour. Of course, it isn’t ultra-fast-charging, but it was pretty serviceable overall.

My only complaint is the bulk of the case. Though I will be taking it with me for longer flights, shorter trips or play sessions only lasting a few hours wouldn’t be worth the space it takes up in my bag. I used a backpack suited for smaller women, so bag space is at a premium, and the Belkin Charging Case Pro For Nintendo Switch 2 does take up a large chunk of real estate. Of course, this is cartridge storage, a case, dock, and battery pack all-in-one, so it is to be expected, but things can get heavy.
The Belkin Charging Case Pro for Nintendo Switch 2 will run you $99.99 USD, but almost doubling your Switch 2 battery life, keeping it safe, and creating a great play experience with the dock is worth it. The Charging Case Pro will be my Switch 2 case of choice for all future trips from here on out.
