Living in remote or rural areas often means dealing with frequent blackouts and unreliable access to the grid, turning power into something you cannot always take for granted. The real question becomes how to maintain some sense of normal life with as few inconveniences as possible when the lights go out. The Bluetti Apex 300 offers a practical answer to that problem. It is a high-capacity, modular portable power pack designed to keep essential devices running, from lights and appliances to computers and communication gear, even when traditional power sources are unavailable.
Let us be clear from the start that this is not a power pack you will want to take camping on a whim or transport on a regular basis. The unit is heavy, weighing about 84 pounds, which makes it more of a semi-permanent installation than a truly portable solution. Measuring 20.67 by 12.87 by 12.6 inches, the Bluetti Apex 300 is roughly the size of a carry-on suitcase. While that footprint makes storage manageable in a garage, utility room or dedicated power station area, moving it often will require planning and likely a second set of hands.

On the front of the Bluetti Apex 300, you will find a small LCD monitoring screen, a power button, a voltage selector switch and four standard AC outlets to power most appliances or devices such as lamps and computers. Along the right side is the battery expansion port for connecting additional battery modules, as well as the DC input port. On the left side, there is a grounding terminal for use when the unit is hard-wired to a home, a circuit breaker reset switch, the AC input port for use with the included wall charger and additional AC outlets for powering higher-demand appliances such as a fridge, freezer or even a washing machine.
“Unlike Bluetti’s smaller models, the Apex 300 can power both 120-volt and 240-volt appliances.”
Despite the weight, Bluetti included two large handles along the sides of the Apex 300 to allow one or two people to carry it more easily. For those who find it too heavy to lift, Bluetti offers a dolly to wheel the Apex around. This may be a worthwhile investment for anyone planning to use the Apex 300 with additional battery modules.
Unlike Bluetti’s smaller models, the Apex 300 can power both 120-volt and 240-volt appliances, making it suitable as a backup power solution in homes or for use in campers and RVs. It is also modular, with the ability to connect additional battery modules to expand its capacity and extend how long you can run appliances when needed. Capacity can be increased from 2.76 kWh to as much as 19 kWh, which is enough to power a house for up to three days off the grid when configured correctly.

Once power is available, the Bluetti Apex 300 supports a wide range of charging solutions to suit different environments and needs. Charging can be done through a simple 12-volt car plug or wall outlet, or through more advanced options such as solar panels or hard-wiring the unit into an electrical panel. Bluetti provides multiple ways to get you back up and running quickly.
“One of the most appealing options from Bluetti is the ability to pair the Apex 300 with your phone.”
One of the most appealing options from Bluetti is the ability to pair the Apex 300 with your phone. Through the app, users can monitor charging status, track power usage and set a variety of parameters to ensure the power pack is performing at its best.
Using my laptop for hours at a time rarely made much of a dent in the Apex 300’s overall battery level. Knowing I could reasonably live off the grid or out of my vehicle while powering my devices provided real peace of mind, especially with the ability to top up the Apex 300 while driving or through a solar panel when one was available.

During power outages, being able to run our fridge and freezer was something my family appreciated, saving us money and preventing the frustration of throwing out spoiled food. When power returned, keeping the Bluetti Apex 300 plugged into the wall allowed it to recharge to full capacity, leaving it ready for the next blackout.
Working outdoors on various tasks that once required long extension cables to the house is now much simpler, as the Bluetti Apex 300 can power tools directly. This reduces tripping hazards and keeps everyone safer. With enough power to run drills and even demanding tools such as power saws, carpentry work becomes far easier.
Overall, the Bluetti Apex 300 has become a valuable solution for my family, especially with the frequent blackouts and large storms in our rural area. We have often found the power pack to be a real lifesaver when we needed it most, and we continue to use it for a variety of tasks in day-to-day life.
