The J15 Pro Ultra is Eureka’s flagship vacuum. Designed as the ultimate hands-free device, it boasts an impressive feature set, robust AI capabilities, and the most powerful Pascal (Pa) the company has ever installed in a robot vacuum. With Smart app, Google Assistant, Alexa and Siri integration and a dock that rivals most valet parking garages, the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra aims to be the Cadillac of robot vacuums.
The design of the J15 Pro Ultra shares similarities with many robot vacuums on the surface. The almost completely cylindrical design provides a tight turn radius and allows the J15 Pro Ultra to navigate space with ease. This is further bolstered by the vacuums onboard Laser Navigation Technology (LDS) that provides pinpoint accuracy of a space.
The J15 Pro Ultra also includes an RGB camera that further aids in the mapping of space, working in tandem with the LDS technology. The result is a vacuum that both accurately maps a room or floor as well as avoids unforeseen obstacles with ease. This is all processed and recorded via the onboard AI controls, which then send data directly to your smartphone via the Eureka App. Once a space is mapped, the system divides the scan into rooms and, quite accurately, gives you advanced control over cleaning.
The camera also comes with a video patrol function that allows for viewing through the camera lens either while the vacuum is docked or during operation. This is quite helpful for moments when there is an obstacle in the way of the vacuum. Perhaps what I appreciated most, though, about the video patrol feature is that it’s password protected, with only the owner able to access the video feed. Each time the patrol function is accessed via the app, the password is required, alleviating some of the privacy concerns of such a function.

I’ve been thoroughly impressed by how well the J15 Pro Ultra handles spatial awareness, specifically with inclines and declines. While we have renovated our main floor to be an open concept with a pony wall and countertop as a divider between the kitchen and the rest of the main living space, there is a notable difference in floor height between the two spaces, which required a fairly robust transition strip to accommodate the difference.
This context is important because I assumed that when mapping the space on our main floor, the J15 Pro Ultra would recognize the obstacle and simply ignore the space, as there is a high difference of ¾ of an inch when you factor in the aforementioned transition strip and floor height difference. This was not the case, however. The Eureka J15 Pro Ultra, when first mapping the room, spent about thirty seconds at each transition strip (there are two entries into the kitchen space) before simply climbing over the transition strip and continuing to map the space.
This off-roading, as it were, was impressive to watch in real time. At one point while exiting the kitchen area during cleaning, it seemed like the J15 Pro Ultra had become hung up. However, after adjusting its position, it easily freed itself and continued with the cleaning process. I am impressed at how well the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra can handle obstacles.
The J15 Pro Ultra also features the IntelliView AI system that can detect and classify various types of dry debris. The value here is that once assessed, the system will automatically reduce the speed of the brushes to avoid scattering the dirt during the vacuum cycle. This feature works incredibly well with the J15 Pro Ultra, easily cleaning the entire floor without missing a crumb.
It also has an extended bristle system for picking up dirt in every crevice and corner that works incredibly well. This is coupled with the ScrubExtend swing arms for mopping, which allows the mop heads to extend out past the base of the J15 Pro Ultra. The result is the most thorough sweep and mop I’ve experienced from a robot vacuum system.

The J15 Pro Ultra also includes what Eureka refers to as the FlexiRazor Hair Cutting technology, which, to quote my wife, “Makes it worth every penny”. While I tackle the cooking and dishes in our house, my wife prefers taking care of the floors as she has a high standard for floor cleanliness. The biggest frustration she constantly has to address is cleaning the hair out of the vacuum, a task that the J15 Pro Ultra has remedied.
Once the vacuum has completed a cycle, it returns to the docking station and begins a hair-cutting process. It essentially removes the hairs from the bristles and deposits them into the dust bin. While we were both skeptical of this feature, after seeing it in action, we are sold on its capabilities. Upon inspection, after the process was complete, the vacuum bristles were impressively clean of any tangled hair. It works incredibly well and once again is completely hands-free.
The docking station is just as impressive as the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra itself and feels more like an all-in-one care unit for the vacuum. While docked, the J15 Pro Ultra receives the deluxe detailing package. While charging, dirty water is removed from the vacuum, replaced with clean water from the tank reservoir, collected dust is deposited into the onboard dirt bag, mop heads are washed and dried, the tray is cleaned, and the aforementioned hair-cutting process is completed. All without the user clicking a single button. It’s the most complete and hands-free maintenance system I’ve seen on a robot vacuum, and it works incredibly well.
Refilling the clean water reservoir, emptying the dirty water tank and changing the onboard dirt bag are all exceptionally simple on the dock as well. Both tanks are located on the top of the unit and marked, making it easy to identify. Swapping the bag requires opening up the front panel of the dock and changing the bag. It takes very little time with all easily accessible.

Issuing commands to the J15 Pro Ultra is handled through Eureka’s app, which can be found on both Android and iOS. Once downloaded and the system is set up, which takes about 2 minutes to complete, you’ll have full control over every aspect of the J15 Pro Ultra. From here, you can track the vacuum’s progress during a cleaning cycle, access video patrol, manage the vacuum’s robust series of settings, check the base stations’ levels and even select the type of cleaning you would like to have the J15 Pro Ultra perform.
For those who like to talk to their robots, the J15 Pro Ultra also includes support for Google Assistant, Alexa, and soon-to-be Siri. Setting the vacuum up with my existing Google Home simply required signing into my Eureka account from within the Home app, identifying the J15 Pro Ultra and syncing it all together. While I’ve done limited testing of voice control, it is responsive and works as expected.
I am quite enamoured with the J15 Pro Ultra and its robust functionality. Eureka has worked hard to design the most feature-rich and functional vacuum and mop on the market, and it shows. Every aspect of the experience with the J15 Pro Ultra feels premium, well thought through and incredibly well executed. While all the features are impressive, it’s how well the J15 Pro Ultra performs each task that helps it raise the bar on what we can expect from a robot vacuum. It provides a level of cleanliness that I’ve not seen in other robot vacuum systems.
