Working at CGMagazine, I’ve learned the value of standing desks, especially for this type of job. I loved the FlexiSpot E7 Pro when I reviewed it earlier this year, so when I got a chance to review the FlexiSpot E7 Plus, I jumped at the opportunity. As someone who’s spent countless hours hunched over a desk, a standing desk provides a more flexible way to work and allows me to mix things up during the day when something simply isn’t working. After several weeks of use, I can confidently say that this desk delivered an experience that was not only flexible but also one of the best business-focused desks I’ve tested in recent years.
I was no stranger to FlexiSpot, having reviewed the FlexiSpot E7 Pro, so I wasn’t surprised when I received three large boxes, complete with all the parts needed to get things set up and working. The desk came in three separate boxes—two for the frame and one for the tabletop. While the frame boxes were quite heavy (around 50 pounds each), the tabletop was manageable. Assembly took about an hour, and while I did it alone, I would recommend enlisting the help of a colleague or partner to make the process safer and a bit easier for some parts. Thankfully, the instructions were clear enough, though I found myself double-checking a few steps along the way.

The FlexiSpot E7 Plus offers a sleek, modern design that would fit seamlessly into any office setup. I opted for the dark bamboo top, which not only looks stunning but also feels durable and premium to the touch. Having tested the light bamboo in my previous review, the darker wood was a welcome change. However, due to the colour choice, marks are more noticeable. While none were major or overly distracting, it’s something worth noting when making your selection.
The frame itself comes in either white or black, allowing you to match your existing décor. One of the standout features of this desk is its four-leg design, which provides exceptional stability even at its maximum height. Having tested both the dual-leg concept seen in the Pro and the four-leg offering in the Plus, I have to say the Plus has my vote. It feels more stable and, honestly, looks better in a modern office. Both options are solid and offer a surprisingly smooth mechanism (more on that shortly), but the four-leg option felt more rigid and ready for anything you can throw at it.
“The FlexiSpot E7 Plus offers a sleek, modern design that would fit seamlessly into any office setup. “
The E7 Plus offers an impressive range of adjustments, making it ideal for those who want to customize their standing experience. At its lowest, the desk sits at 22.8 inches, and it can extend up to 48.4 inches at its highest point. This range accommodates users of various heights, making it suitable for shared workspaces or families. The dual-motor system moves the desk smoothly and quietly, with minimal disruption to your workflow or colleagues—it is shockingly smooth and quiet.

The control panel on the E7 Plus is the same as the one I used with the E7 Pro, and that’s not a bad thing. It features a sleek LED display that shows the current height, along with four programmable memory presets. This allows you to easily switch between your preferred sitting and standing heights with the touch of a button. There’s also a child lock feature, a thoughtful addition for those with little ones running around the home office.
I briefly mentioned the solid nature of the desk, but I want to expand on that: the E7 Plus delivers an impressive weight capacity. With the ability to support up to 355 pounds, this desk can handle multiple monitors, desktop computers, and all your work essentials with ease. I’ve loaded mine up with two 27-inch monitors, a laptop, and various peripherals, and the desk remains rock-solid even when in motion.
The customization options for the E7 Plus are extensive. FlexiSpot offers a range of desktop materials and sizes, allowing you to tailor the desk to your specific needs and aesthetic preferences. Whether you prefer the warmth of wood or the sleek look of laminate, there’s an option for everyone.

Additionally, the frame width is adjustable, accommodating desktops from 43.3 to 80 inches wide. There are also options for drawers, monitor mounts, stands, and other accessories should you want to configure your desk exactly to your liking. For this review, we kept things simple with a desktop, the frame, and a drawer. Everything worked well, though I haven’t tested the other accessories at the time of writing.
While most aspects of the FlexiSpot E7 Plus desk were solid, I did encounter a few issues worth noting for anyone considering making the switch to a desk like this. Standing desks are great, but you will soon find that cables become an issue. For those using an iMac or something with minimal cables, you might be able to manage. However, cable management will be a challenge for anyone looking to game or run a full PC rig on this desk.
“After extensive use, I can confidently recommend the FlexiSpot E7 Plus to anyone looking to upgrade their workspace.”
The FlexiSpot E7 Pro included some level of cable management in the box, which helped with the issue; unfortunately, the FlexiSpot E7 Plus does not. While FlexiSpot offers cable management trays as an add-on, I would have appreciated some integrated options to keep my workspace tidy right out of the box, especially for a premium offering like this. No one likes paying for a high-end option only to find that not everything you need is included. That being said, this is a relatively easy problem to solve with aftermarket solutions.

After extensive use, I can confidently recommend the FlexiSpot E7 Plus to anyone looking to upgrade their workspace. Whether you’re a full-time remote worker, a creative professional, or someone who simply wants to improve posture and comfort while working, this desk offers a robust solution. I would love to see more cable management solutions included in future models, but with so many options available online, this is an issue that can be easily rectified—provided you’re prepared and have ordered ahead.
The FlexiSpot E7 Plus Standing Desk is a top-tier option in the world of adjustable workstations. Its sturdy construction, smooth operation, and thoughtful design features make it a standout choice. While it may require a significant initial investment, the potential benefits to your work experience make it a compelling option for those looking to elevate their home office setup. If you’re in the market for a standing desk that combines form and function with exceptional build quality, the E7 Plus should be at the top of your list—just make sure you sort out cable management before it arrives.
