Infinix Note 60 Ultra

Brutalist Review Style (Version 2)

Upon receiving the news that I would be reviewing the Infinix Note 60 Ultra, I didn’t really bat an eyelash about it. My initial thought was that this was just going to be another smartphone with some sort of cool feature, and that was going to be it. I’ve been using this phone for a few weeks at this point, and I can now say that I was incredibly wrong on all fronts, and the Infinix Note 60 Ultra might be the most fun I’ve had with a smartphone in a very long time.

The Note 60 Ultra is not only a smartphone that won’t break the bank, only costing $750 USD, but it is a unique device that rivals other high-end smartphones like the Apple iPhone 17 Pro and the Samsung S25 Ultra. It also does some really cool things that separate it from its competition while still retaining its unique identity.

From the moment I received the shipping box for the Infinix Note 60 Ultra, I knew I was going to be in for a pretty wild ride. The smartphone was packaged in this very premium gift box, which included some extra accessories I wasn’t expecting. I’ve reviewed a fair amount of smartphones in my time, but the Infinix Note 60 Ultra has hands down been the best unboxing that I’ve ever experienced in my life.

The specialized box had two clips at the bottom of it that secured the package. Once you unclip those and remove the cover, you reveal two symmetrical boxes that open outwards and reveal the phone in the middle. These boxes house the wireless charger that takes its shape following the silhouette of the luxury car brand Pininfarina, as well as the standard charger with a UK converter. This was an extremely premium experience for an unboxing and was over the top to say the absolute least, but with all that said, I did really and truly enjoy this experience, as it was both fun and equally unique.

One thing I do enjoy about a smartphone is when it has an amazing display, and the  Infinix Note 60 Ultra didn’t disappoint at all on this front. I’m on my phone more than I’d like to admit, and for this reason, I always need to make sure that the screen I’m looking at for the majority of the day is a good one. In saying this, the display was designed with people like me in mind and offers some really good eye protection.

For daytime use, the visible blue light ratio is reduced by 5.1% and for nighttime use, it offers up a 2034Hz no-flicker PWM dimming. With this, the screen also has a 144Hz high refresh rate and is ultra-smooth and great for both gaming and doomscrooling. The brightness of the display peaks at 4500nits while still providing outstanding clarity, especially when you are watching videos that are in HDR. Finally, you also get a 1.5k Ultra Clear resolution, while some might say that they would prefer a 4K display more, I did not see an issue with this as the screen looks magnificent.

Performance on this phone is top-notch, making the Infinix Note 60 Ultra one of the most impressive as well as one of the most underrated smartphones to hit the market this year. Under the hood, this phone is a MediaTek D8400 Ultimate processor that sports eight Arm Cortex-A725 cores that deliver an AnTuTu score of over two million, which is a 41% gain in multi-core performance while having roughly 44% lower peak power than previous midrange chips. This processor allows for a premium flagship gaming experience, so you’re able to play most of your games at 120 FPS.

I got to test this out with my go-to game, Diablo Immortal. Normally, there are some framerate drop-offs and instancing issues while in the overworld, but with the Infinix Note 60 Ultra, I didn’t have this problem at all. The game looked beautiful, and played just as well as it would on my Nintendo Switch, which is saying a lot for a mobile game. I then jumped in and played some rounds in Pokémon Unite, and again, the device ran super smoothly with barely any visual or performance issues.

The camera on the Infinix Note 60 Ultra is really good, too. The front camera is your standard 32MP, while the rear camera is a beefy 200MP rear camera that is supported by the latest ISOCELL HPE image sensor from Samsung that debuted in October of 2025. This rear camera is paired with a 50MP inverted periscope telephoto camera. If you’re one to capture content, the rear camera would be your go-to as it supports up to 4K resolution while retaining 60FPS.

Video capture on the Infinix Note 60 Ultra also supports full-link HDR 10+. With its 50MP output, the inverted telescopic lens functions as a true secondary main camera, serving not only as a zoom option but also collaborating with the primary camera to provide a versatile zoom range—from 2× optical zoom and native 3.5× optical zoom to 7× lossless digital zoom, extending up to 100× for extended long-range photography.

A feature that I played around with a decent amount was the Infinix AI Studio. As a lifelong Google Pixel user, I will say that this AI photo editor doesn’t compare to Google’s, but it does do some convenient things if you’re not too familiar with photo editing. The UI is easy enough to work with, and is great if you’re looking to post some quick edits. This was the weakest feature of the Infinix Note 60 Ultra, mainly due to the lack of options that were available.

I used this phone as my daily driver for a couple of weeks, and I would go almost 2-3 days of heavy use before I had to charge it. For comparison, my main phone is the Google Pixel 10 Pro, and I need to charge it every night. The Infinix Note 60 Ultra has a 7000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, which is nearly double that of my Google Pixel 10 Pro.

Similar to the pixel, the Infinix Note 60 Ultra supports both 100W wired fast charging as well as 50W wireless charging. With fast charging, you’ll be able to get up to 50% battery within 18 minutes and charge to a full battery in 48 minutes. The Infinix Note 60 Ultra also includes adaptive bypass charging, which means that it takes power directly from the phone charger during intensive tasks like watching a high-resolution movie or a long session of gaming. This will prevent the phone from overheating, sounding like a plane is about to take off and overall extend the battery’s lifespan.

Another standout feature on the Infinix Note 60 Ultra is the satellite communication service that is powered by Thuraya. I do appreciate that this feature has been rolling out on more smartphones over the last couple of years. This satellite communication service allows you to make and receive calls and messages when you are outside of your regular service provider’s coverage range.

For example, if you’re going on a hike in a very rural area and get lost, there is no more fear that you won’t be able to call for help. Another perk with this feature is that you will be able to make calls with crystal clear audio, as the satellite offers 4 kbps voice calling. This is much clearer than the industry standard. One thing to keep in mind, this feature is not available in all locations. The satellite communication service is offered in over 120 countries. Remember to verify whether or not your country is included in the coverage area before you plan out your grand adventure with the Infinix Note 60 Ultra

I was completely blown away by how good the Infinix Note 60 Ultra smartphone is. Before I got this phone to review, I didn’t know anything about Infinix or the phones they had made previously. The price of the phone was the first thing that caught my attention, as this only retails for $750 USD. Because of this, I assumed that it would be your average entry to mid-level phone, but I was so wrong.

From its stellar camera to super beefy battery, the Infinix Note 60 Ultra smartphone really punches way above its weight class. For those like me who haven’t heard of this phone or brand before, I cannot express enough about how good this device is. If you’re in the market for a new smartphone, the Infinix Note 60 Ultra might be the phone for you.
