Logitech G FITS True Wireless Gaming Earbuds

There are plenty of earbuds on the market—perhaps too many—but few that focus their attention on gaming. The Logitech G FITS true wireless gaming earbuds are a pair of in-ear earbuds with the low latency connection that serious gamers need. With some unique features and a clean, elegant look, the only thing holding back these ‘gamer-centric’ earbuds is the rather steep $229 price of entry that makes it hard to recommend to any die-hard mobile game lovers.

The earbuds are stored inside the case in a slot with a magnetic groove. This groove charges and keeps the earbuds snug against the pogo pins. The earbuds have an unusual T-shaped body with dual stems pointing up and down. They are controlled with a touch on the stems and have dual beam-forming microphones on each bud.

The case the Logitech G FITS earbuds come in is typical of most wireless earbuds, with an unassuming look that keeps your pricey earbuds safe. Sadly, I was disappointed with how easily the case was marred, picking up the colour of whatever it came into contact with. The case is charged via USB-C, notably missing the wireless charging you’d expect on such a pricey set of earbuds and lacking any indicator light to let you know when things are fully charged.

Between the buds and charging case, the Logitech G FITS earbuds will provide up to 15 hours of LS (Lightspeed) wireless use or 20 hours of battery life while on Bluetooth. Not too bad for a pair of wireless earbuds, but still on the lower end of the spectrum for wireless gaming earbuds. For people that are used to days of battery life from their headset, the 20 hours of life for these earbuds could be a sticking point.

One of the most exciting features of the Logitech G FITS true wireless gaming earbuds is how they adjust to give a custom fit. This gives you a customized experience, and it is hard to deny that it’s useful. These earbuds feature soft, moldable silicon-like material that responds to light, making them easy to adjust for a comfortable and secure fit. The setup process is simple—just press the earbuds into your ear with this material, and it will form-fit to your unique shape. It’s an innovative feature that works better than I could have ever imagined.

I’m all about getting the perfect fit in my ears for optimal passive noise cancellation without the power-draining hassle of active noise cancellation that requires microphones and audio processing. With this customized fit, I was shocked at how well the earbuds blocked out external noise, giving a much more secure and comfortable experience.

I was a little daunted at first, but after I got everything connected, setting up my Logitech G FITS true wireless earbuds with the accompanying mobile app was actually exciting. The FITS app takes you step-by-step through the setup and molding process and makes it incredibly easy to customize your earbuds to fit perfectly. This is where the Logitech G FITS earbuds get their name, giving a perfect custom fit that is tailored to your unique ear canal. However, it’s important to note that once you have finished the setup, it’s not reversible—if you want to adjust the fit or give them away, you’ll need new tips.

“The Logitech G FITS earbuds offer a plethora of connectivity options…”

Beyond just setting the earbuds up for the first time, the G FITS app lets you adjust the equalizer with five presets, view the battery life of both earbuds, access instructions on how to utilize the touch controls, and even remap those controls on each earbud. While it offers a range of features, I never found the app as intuitive as it could have been, some settings are not clear, and I had to dig through menus at times to find a select setting. This is one area I hope to see Logitech improve since, especially with the fitting procedure, it is an app many people will try to use.

The Logitech G FITS earbuds offer a plethora of connectivity options, seamlessly connecting to devices with Bluetooth or via a dedicated Litespeed Wireless connection. With easy-to-use Bluetooth 5.2, you can link up with your favourite gadgets quickly and effortlessly, while the Lightspeed dongle gives you compatibility across Windows, macOS, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Android for uninterrupted gaming fun.

The Bluetooth connection was incredibly reliable, even when it came to extended periods of listening to podcasts, music and movies while being paired with an Android phone and tablet. We did observe one slight issue where the audio wasn’t picked up, but the device remained connected; however, this didn’t cause any major disruptions.

The impressive power of the Lightspeed Wireless connection is undeniable—even through walls, its signal remains steady up to 30 feet away. Beyond that range, the signal may start to fade but still provides impressive performance. And with a connection established, there’s barely any detectable lag in audio, making it virtually imperceptible.

With earbuds designed to be used on a range of devices, I found the switching between Bluetooth and Lightspeed Wireless modes a bit tedious at times. In theory, it only takes a few taps of your fingers on each earbud to switch between the Lightspeed and Bluetooth connections, but sometimes that’s not enough. In these cases, you may need to try a few more times before the transition is finally successful. Even then, it may take a few seconds before the connection is properly established.

I was truly amazed by the remarkably detailed sound quality and balance of the Logitech G FITS earbuds. Every song we tested, from jazz to rock, sounded just as it should, with a clear and vibrant midrange. The bass and lower frequency audio these tiny earbuds delivered were even more impressive. It was an unexpected surprise!

Despite not having the fullness of a high-end pair of over-ear headphones, the bass in these earbuds is decently powerful. The Lightspeed wireless also provides enough bandwidth to make for a solid audio experience for all audio styles, making it possible to deliver your favourite games or music without compression and audio issues that take away from your experience.

“My Logitech G FITS earbuds have specially crafted ear-tips that do a great job of blocking out external noise and guiding the sound directly into my ears.”

My Logitech G FITS earbuds have specially crafted ear-tips that do a great job of blocking out external noise and guiding the sound directly into my ears. Although, I didn’t find that the passive noise isolation was any different from the regular in-ear earbuds I usually use. What I did find, however, was that the G FITS were far more comfortable than my Razer pair, placing less strain on my ears and allowing me to wear them for extended periods of time with ease.

Despite the decent music performance, the gaming audio does not exceed just acceptable levels, partially due to its low latency connection. Although these earbuds present everything clearly enough to enjoy most games, they have some key shortcomings that may not satisfy the picky listener or competitive gamer.

Through the buds, I was unable to get a clear sense of verticality. While playing a game of Doom Eternal, I never could get a clear picture of where enemies were coming from, and I often found myself looking up when one was just around the corner. It is not a deal-breaker for single-player games, but if you play competitively, this could be the difference between a win or a brutal defeat.

I also found it challenging to distinguish between certain sounds in Elden Ring, especially enemy footsteps or sounds in the distance. This is not always crucial, but it can be annoying, especially when you are trying to last as long as possible, only to be surprised by a sound that either sounded too close or too far away and never knowing the best way to react.

The Logitech G FITS earbuds are a great choice for gamers wanting top-notch communication and microphone quality. I’ve been able to win my competitive matches in Fortnite with them easily, and my team had no issue understanding my mic or callouts. I was generally impressed at how well the mic worked, especially for the size and unobtrusive nature of the Logitech G FITS earbuds. The fact the mic worked so well-made it incredibly annoying the game audio was so lack-lustre, especially considering these earbuds sound fantastic otherwise.

Testing out the mics, I was impressed with their ability to isolate my voice and virtually eliminate background noise like keyboard clicks or mouse taps. My voice stood out clearly in the audio mix, indicating that these mics effectively isolate my voice. Despite its small size, the quality of my voice coming through these Bluetooth earbuds is still what you’d expect. There’s not a lot of fullness to be found, but it definitely beats having a boom mic in front of me and picking up my popping sounds, as I find with many gaming headsets.

The Logitech G FITS earbuds are interesting, delivering quality audio to your favourite Bluetooth-powered mobile devices while delivering a good mix of audio quality and comfort. The issues arise when you jump over to the Litespeed Wireless audio, and I find it hard to justify the $229 price tag. While the gimmick of customizing the fit is novel and works well, the detailed sound experience in games is lacking, which can be a game deal-breaker for many competitive players. The Logitech G FITS earbuds do a good-enough job for casual gamers, but there are plenty of cheaper headsets that are tailor-made for that market.

At the end of the day, I am torn about my thoughts on the Logitech G FITS earbuds. The custom fit concept that gives a snug, tailored experience is great and something I did not think would work as well as it did. The same can be said for the sound quality, which is top-notch and delivers music and podcasts the way you would want, sounding fantastic.

However, the Lightspeed wireless and gaming left me underwhelmed. There are plenty of cheaper gaming earbuds on the market, and many can deliver far better sound. That being said, for someone looking for gaming wireless earbuds, the Logitech G FITS earbuds are some of the best on the market, even if the choices are rather limited currently.
