Marvo Niro 60W

Brutalist Review Style (Version 2)

Every now and then, a product arrives for review that doesn’t make much of a first impression—until I actually use it. The Marvo Niro 60W gaming mouse is one of those pleasant surprises. At first glance, it’s a cheap, lightweight gaming mouse that doesn’t look particularly special. However, after using it alongside my laptop for a few days, it has quickly become a daily go-to.

Unboxing the Marvo Niro 60W, you’ll find the essentials: the mouse itself, a lightweight USB-C cable, some paperwork, and a Marvo-branded decal. That’s more than I’ve received from other brands that charge more and deliver less. At just $24.90, expectations should be kept in check, but Marvo still manages to offer solid value out of the gate.

At a glance, the Marvo Niro 60W looks like a fairly standard mouse, but pick it up and you’ll be surprised at how featherlight its 55g body feels—it’s almost like holding a few sheets of paper. While the plastic does feel a little on the cheap side, that’s likely the trade-off for keeping the weight so low. In addition to the standard buttons, Marvo has included two side buttons (preprogrammed for forward and back navigation), and the scroll wheel and side buttons are accented in red. It’s a subtle yet stylish touch that complements the black body well; however, a white version with the same red highlights is also available for lighter setups.

“At just $24.90, expectations should be kept in check, but Marvo still manages to offer solid value out of the gate.”

The Marvo Niro 60W features tri-mode connectivity, allowing you to choose between using the mouse with the included charging cable, connecting over Bluetooth, or, for those without Bluetooth built into their PC, using the wireless dongle conveniently stored at the bottom of the mouse. I tended to use the mouse in Bluetooth mode as it kept my work surface and laptop ports free of obstruction and was more minimalistic, which I also prefer.

Don’t let its small and lightweight size fool you, though—the Marvo Niro 60W packs a punch well above its price range. Not only is the tri-mode connectivity a nice bonus, but the ability to map all the buttons to different tasks is something I’ve typically only seen on much more expensive mice, such as those made by Asus or Razer.

Additionally, the DPI range spans from 800 to 12,000. While more expensive mice may offer higher DPI ranges, it’s important to remember this mouse costs less than what most people spend eating out these days. I personally found my sweet spot to be around 2,000 DPI, though I haven’t yet needed to push the DPI higher while using a smaller laptop.

“The Marvo Niro 60W’s tri-mode connectivity makes it versatile, especially for minimal setups or travel.”

Battery life is another area where cheaper mice often fall short, as they quickly drain power. That wasn’t the case with the Marvo Niro 60W. After fully charging the mouse and using it for hours each day, I still had more than 95 per cent battery life remaining after about two weeks of use. This suggests I could potentially go for months without needing to recharge. I’m not sure whether using the dongle consumes more or less battery, but either way, I do not doubt that the Marvo Niro 60W’s battery will last a long time.

One factor I consistently struggle with when searching for a suitable mouse is finding one that fits my relatively small hands without feeling oversized, while also being comfortable to use. This is another area where, at least for me, the Marvo Niro 60W excels. Not only did it feel very comfortable to use for long periods, but it also fit my hand well, and I never felt any strain on my hand or wrist.

Some gamers may be disappointed by the lack of RGB lighting, but I would gladly trade that for longer battery life. Even when I have RGB lighting on other products, I tend to use it for a few days before the novelty wears off. A more subtle and professional-looking mouse is much more my style, so in that way, the Marvo Niro 60W is a perfect fit for me.

While I’m sure others may turn away from the Marvo Niro 60W, for me, it’s the closest I’ve come to finding the perfect mouse. Its lightweight build makes it barely noticeable in my laptop bag, and I rarely find myself scrambling for a charger. At just $24.90, it’s an absolute bargain for what it offers. I’d love to see more well-known manufacturers introduce entry-level products like this—devices that deliver many of the same benefits as their more expensive counterparts while staying within reach of even the most budget-conscious consumers. I hope to review more from Marvo in the future, as they’ve genuinely impressed me this time.
