I first saw the REDMAGIC 10 Pro smartphone at MWC 2025, with a peek at the ultra-luxurious Golden Saga Limited Edition. A short while later, the standard version of the 10 Pro arrived on my doorstep. Though it wasn’t quite as premium as the golden version, I was pleasantly surprised by what I received, even though my expectations were fairly high. The REDMAGIC 10 Pro is a quality device for mobile gamers, with plenty of features to keep even the most intense players happy.
The REDMAGIC 10 Pro smartphone is one of the most unique-looking devices I have used. Measuring 163.42 by 76.14 by 8.9 millimetres, it feels similar to the OnePlus 13, which is my regular device, so the size felt comfortable when I first made the switch. Opting for a flatter display and sharper corners, the RedMagic 10 Pro seems to be edging away from recent smartphone trends featuring curved corners and edges.
Also notably flat is the camera array. Gone is the giant camera bump found on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, OnePlus 13 and even the iPhone 16 Pro. Placed next to my current device, it sits flush with the table, and I have to say that I love it. However, in the case of camera bumps, in practice, it does seem like bigger is better.

Though the photos I took on the REDMAGIC 10 Pro were serviceable, I found any pictures snapped in a hurry — especially in low light — were particularly poor. Low light is definitely not the device’s strong suit. Not only did I end up with extremely blurry photos repeatedly — and the unblur feature didn’t help in the editing settings — but the image quality was poor as well. A selfie in a dimly lit restaurant made my skin appear rippled and yellow, and upon zooming in, there were yellow streaks throughout. I also found the AI camera features lacking, but I couldn’t expect more here, given the phone’s purpose and price.

Using the main camera in low light was sufficient if you were taking your time and staying ultra-still, but there was no room for error. That said, even in darker areas, bright colours remained vibrant, though blowing up images revealed blurred details. I want to say this isn’t a device for smartphone photography pros, but in reality, it may be better suited to them than the average user — those who are willing to take their time and line up the perfect shot.

The REDMAGIC 10 Pro features a 50MP wide, a 50MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro lens. The front-facing camera is a 16 MP lens. This is sitting in the middle of the pack for many smartphones today, with the selfie cam sandwiched between Samsung’s 12MP and OnePlus and Xiaomi’s 32 MP cameras. This is even true for the non-pro Xiaomi models but matches the OnePlus 13R.
The main cameras are still lacking compared to many major brands today, but this phone is marketed to gamers, so the camera was never the focus. REDMAGIC has delivered a gaming phone that didn’t completely disregard cameras, and points need to be scored for that, especially at the $749 USD starting price point.

What gamers do need, however, are excellent internals — and the REDMAGIC 10 Pro brings a lot to the table. Starting with the display, it features a 6.853-inch AMOLED screen with a 2688-by-1216 resolution. With a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, 2,000 nits max brightness, and one billion colours, the screen is excellent for gaming or watching media.
Personally, I played a lot of Minecraft on the REDMAGIC 10 Pro, and if you’ve played it, you know the screen can get dark when venturing into the jungle or digging for diamonds. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I was still able to see on the REDMAGIC’s display, even when I’m used to playing on a 55-inch TV.

REDMAGIC has put a strong focus on cooling in the 10 Pro, with its website featuring a longer cooling section than anything else on the spec sheet. Perhaps one of the more ridiculous but surprisingly fun features is the start-up fan widget. Clicking it starts a revving engine sound, letting you know your device is cooling and ready to go.
The ICE-X Magic Cooling system consists of a 23,000 RPM high-speed turbofan, 58 fan blades, and several other features listed on the company’s website. Gaming on battery or while plugged in, I never found the device got overly hot. Given the 7,050 mAh dual battery, I expected more heat to be pumping through this thing.
As this is a gaming phone, I expected some gaming features — but not nearly the number of options on offer. Just some of the adjustable settings include touch sampling rate, sensitivity, smoothness and stabilization. You can choose between performance modes (Eco, Balanced or Rise), and GPU settings (Standard, Power Saving, High Quality or Custom). The REDMAGIC 10 Pro even features on-demand recording for creators who want to share their latest matches.

Something entirely new to me was the REDMAGIC 10 Pro’s Shoulder Triggers. You can program these to be bumpers like on a controller. Each trigger can be dual operations, like L1 and L2, if you choose. You can also program them to single tap, long press, rapid-fire, motion sensing, and more. As someone who hates gaming on a smartphone display, this was a godsend for me.
That being said, even though they included this feature, I still prefer a mobile controller or even a Bluetooth controller. Unfortunately, the REDMAGIC 10 Pro didn’t fit in my Razer Kishi, which was surprising to me because it fits other large devices. The sharp corners on the device make it just slightly too big to fit, so keep that in mind, depending on the mobile controller you use.
The REDMAGIC 10 Pro comes in four configurations, and the colour of the device directly correlates to the storage and RAM size:
- Shadow Version: Comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. (Version tested)
- Dusk Version: Offers 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
- Dusk Ultra Version: Features a massive 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
- Moonlight Version: Includes 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Personally, I don’t love this choice. Though all four versions are ultra-stylish, the Shadow version, which is a sleek black design, is the smallest of all the devices. I don’t want to be forced to use a style I don’t prefer for more storage or RAM. My OnePlus 13 has more than 6,000 pictures and videos and several games on it (I know, I need to deal with that), and I am under half of my available storage. On the REDMAGIC 10 Pro, I have under 100 photos, and with my games installed, I am sitting at 145 of 256 GB. A gaming phone needs storage, so I would do away with the Shadow version entirely.
I mentioned the fun little fan widget earlier, but that isn’t the only quirk the REDMAGIC 10 Pro features. “Mora” comes preloaded on the REDMAGIC 10 Pro, introducing an attractive anime character named Mora to your device. She can sit on your background and is fully interactive, responding to touch and even sleeping when you charge your device. I don’t think I have to say much — aside from noting that she giggles about being ticklish and says, “That is not allowed” when you poke her in specific areas. Yes, I tried — for science.
The REDMAGIC 10 Pro also features a Game Space Switch, which activates a dedicated gaming mode. This mode brings all gaming functions to the forefront and pushes everything else into the background, turning your device into more of a dashboard — like Steam, Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo Switch. It’s like turning your device into its own little console.

Something I found really exciting was the ability to cast my games on my TV, as well. In the Super Base portion of the Game Space, you can choose Gravity X to control your peripherals like keyboards, mice and controllers. Here, there is also a “Projection” tab, where you can cast to another screen. In testing, I was able to cast Civilization VI, Pokémon GO, Minecraft and more. It really takes mobile gaming to the next level.
But if you want your own little console, you know that you need some juice to power the little guy. As I mentioned, the REDMAGIC 10 Pro features a 7050 mAh dual battery that supports up to 100W fast charging. As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra still only features a 5000 mAh battery and doesn’t support fast charging, and even my baby, the OnePlus 13, is sitting at 6000 mAh battery, and that is nothing to scoff at.
REDMAGIC knows that gamers need power, that’s all there is to it. Now, one area I find the REDMAGIC 10 Pro lacking is its missing wireless charging. Even if it wasn’t fast charging, I would be grateful, as I love the standing charger on my desk and nightstand. Having to get used to plugging back in wasn’t my favourite.

Now, personally, even during testing, I don’t go a night without charging my phone. With that in mind, my REDMAGIC 10 Pro never came close to dying in a day, and that includes taking videos and photos, heavy scrolling and gaming. Regularly, I was plugging in at around 50-60% on regular days, with extremely heavy use days being more like 30%. The battery alone is worth it.
And all of that leads me to this, the outrageously low price. The REDMAGIC 10 Pro smartphone starts at $749 USD for the Shadow model. Mind you, you’re lacking storage and don’t have the world’s greatest camera, but you have a gaming powerhouse, a battery that is world-class, and a tiny anime girl keeping you company, if that’s your thing. The REDMAGIC 10 Pro will be hard to beat in even a premium price range. If you’re curious, the 16GB/512GB model is $899 USD. And the 24GB/1TB is $1169 USD.
If you’re looking for a smartphone dedicated to mobile gaming and you aren’t obsessed with photography, the REDMAGIC 10 Pro is the phone you need in your life—but maybe spring for the 512GB.
