The UWANT B400 Multiple Spot Cleaner is a lightweight multi-purpose spot cleaner designed for residential use. With multiple end attachments, two cleaning modes and solid suction, there is a lot to appreciate about UWANT’s compact steam cleaner. Designed for a wide range of settings and surfaces, the B400 offers an impressive, compact design while delivering powerful steam and hot water cleaning.
Weighing 8.3 pounds and measuring 12.2 x 6.3 x 11.6 inches (DxWxH), the UWANT B400 offers an impressively small form factor. The front portion of the unit contains the clean and wastewater tanks, a two-compartment system that holds a total of 41 ounces of water. A quick-release button enables easy removal of the tank, while a convenient handle facilitates its handling.

The side of the unit features a cord reel, while the rear section contains a mounting bracket for the hose handle and multiple attachments. Everything is designed to be compact, making the UWANT B400 easy to store. Even the bottom portion is contoured to allow the hose to wrap around the unit. It’s a smart design and allows the unit to tuck in under a kitchen or bathroom sink.

Out of the box, the UWANT B400 comes with the primary vacuum and steam wand, a gap brush, a steam brush, and a steam brush head, allowing it to penetrate hard-to-reach areas such as window sills or shower tiles. Additionally, the unit comes with a flannel brush for scrubbing and a bottle of UWANT’s own Textile Cleaning solution. The latter is a concentrated solution that can be added to the clean water tank when using the cleaner in hot water mode, though it is not recommended for steam mode.
While I like the overall compact design, there are a couple of pain points when cleaning. For starters, the length of the hose, while ideal for floors and furniture, isn’t quite long enough for those harder-to-reach areas, such as window sills or the higher tiles in a shower. I found myself trying more than once to pick up the unit or set it on a chair so I could clean the sills. Thankfully, its light weight makes this fairly easy.

However, this brings me to the second critique of the design. While it is lightweight and easy to physically lift, there is no handle for the unit. This is a frustrating issue, especially when having to carry it from point to point. In those moments when I need to move the UWANT B400 to reach another area, I have to pick it up with both hands. This slows down cleaning.
Aside from these two design critiques, the compact form factor, along with the ability to essentially carry everything needed for cleaning on the UWANT B400, is great. As mentioned, when not in use, it easily tucks away and doesn’t take up much of the precious storage area in my house.
Functionally, the UWANT B400 performs as advertised, providing consistent, solid performance. It uses a two-button system to switch between hot water and steam modes, with the buttons conveniently located on the cleaning wand handle. This makes swapping modes convenient, not requiring a back-and-forth to the base every time you want to switch cleaning modes.

The main cleaning head, which includes a water vacuum and a steam/water nozzle, performs well across the board. The vacuum, specifically, has excellent suction power, providing a solid 18kPa. I was actually shocked at just how much dirt it pulled from what I thought was a relatively clean chair in my living room. Considering its small form factor, I didn’t expect it to be as thorough as it is.

As for the water/steam nozzle, the sprayer disperses evenly, providing good coverage over the surface area, and the vacuum quickly picks up as it’s applied. I appreciate that it takes just under 30 seconds from startup to producing steam, which made swapping modes a breeze and allowed for quicker cleaning throughout.
I tested all of the attachments and found that they worked quite well. UWANT uses interchangeable heads that connect to the wand, making head swapping quick. Each performs their related tasks as expected. I was impressed, especially with the steam brush, as it quickly and effectively cleaned the window sills in my house in short order, a task, I confess, that has not been done in quite some time.

I also appreciate that the UWANT B400 is designed as a multi-surface cleaner. It worked well in all tests performed, including multiple fabrics, a tile floor, and window sills. Thanks to its compact form factor, I’m excited to test it in my car once the weather is a bit more cooperative.
The UWANT B400 Multiple Spot Cleaner is a solid residential-grade cleaner. Its smaller form factor, coupled with its impressive cleaning power, makes it a solid, budget-friendly solution for those needing a deeper clean around the house. While it has a couple of shortcomings, the B400 Multiple Spot Cleaner is a solid, small home cleaning appliance that offers good value for money.
