The 14T Pro is the latest flagship phone from tech giant Xiaomi. With a host of impressive tech and a focus on photography, the 14T Pro is a beauty to behold. Aiming to compete with other flagship phones on the market, the 14T Pro offers an impressive processor, RAM, battery life, and an incredible camera experience. With significant updates from last year’s 13T Pro, the 14T Pro is refining the overall user experience while still managing to come in under the price of the competition.
The 14T Pro features a minimalistic design. The front panel boasts a beautiful 6.67-inch display with a clean, low-profile bezel around the outer edge. The right side houses all the physical buttons, including simple volume up/down controls and the power button. On the back, Xiaomi has created an impressive housing for the three Leica camera systems. Gone is the textured look of the 13T Pro, replaced by a smooth, metallic aluminum backplate that allows for 50W wireless HyperCharge. The result is a phone that feels both sturdy and classy.

Aside from the noted updates, not much has changed in design, as the basic shape and layout are in line with the previous generation. It weighs 209 grams, slightly heavier than last year’s model, but is slightly smaller, measuring 6.31 x 2.9 x 0.33 inches. The phone feels great in hand, though if you have smaller hands, you might struggle a bit with the volume-up button while holding the phone.
As previously highlighted, the 14T Pro features a beautiful 6.67-inch, 144 Hz display. This 1.5K AMOLED panel is stunning to behold, and with a peak brightness of 4,000 nits, it works exceptionally well even in direct sunlight. In terms of colour depth, Xiaomi offers 12-bit colour and up to 3,840 PWM (pulse width modulation) dimming to ensure a flicker-free viewing experience. In practice, this translates into a bright, colour-rich experience when streaming content, playing games, or simply answering emails.
“With some significant updates from last year’s 13T Pro, 14T Pro is looking to refine the overall experience for users while still managing to come in under the price of the competition.”
All of this is further enhanced by HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, ensuring that the viewing experience is rich and immersive. After testing the phone over the last week, I can confirm that the display is indeed top tier, a credit to Xiaomi’s design. It’s simply a beautiful display.

In terms of performance, the 14T Pro fares well, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, MediaTek’s flagship processor. Accompanying this processor is 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of storage. This provides impressive horsepower, firmly placing the 14T Pro in the realm of flagship phones.
When compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (the processor found in many flagship phones, such as the Galaxy S24), the Dimensity 9300+ holds its own, offering comparable benchmarks—sometimes pulling ahead slightly, while at other times falling just short of its competitor. One area where the MediaTek flagship processor excels, however, is in AI processing, which is quite evident on the 14T Pro.
Geekbench tests gave the 14T Pro a single-core score of 2033 placing it just above the Samsung Galaxy. Likewise, the multi-core score landed at 6411 just above the Galaxy S24. While the scores tell part of the story, how phone manufacturers leverage the processor also impacts the overall performance of the phone. In this regard, Xiaomi has done an exceptional job at pushing every ounce of processing power out of the 9300+.

In testing, the 14T Pro handles daily tasks effortlessly, with no slowdowns or hesitations. Navigation animations feel smooth and responsive. Similarly, more power-intensive tasks such as mobile gaming or camera usage (more on this in a moment) perform exceptionally well. This performance is further bolstered by the power of the 9300+ and its AI-focused processing, pushing the boundaries of what AI can do for a phone. Feature support for everything from Circle to Search with Google to AI film, AI image editing, and even AI interpreter makes daily tasks quicker and painless. The result is a phone that feels like a true flagship.
“…the 14T Pro features a beautiful 6.67”, 144 Hz display. This 1.5K AMOLED panel is gorgeous to behold and with a peak brightness of 4000 nits, it works exceptionally well even in direct sunlight.”
Another area where the MediaTek 9300+ excels is power efficiency. When paired with the 5,000 mAh battery, the result is a phone with impressive longevity. In daily usage testing, I ended each day with at least 40 per cent battery life. Even on Saturday—which may or may not have consisted of late-night streaming of old Star Trek episodes (I can never get enough TNG)—I still plugged in with over 30 per cent battery remaining.
For light users, you could most likely get almost two full days on a single charge. For those who are fearful of draining the battery from Star Trek streaming marathons, the 14T Pro is rated for 120W HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge which translates to about 20ish minutes from 1% to 100%.

As for connectivity the 14T Pro sports the latest in Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and 5G. With Dual SIM support, the 14T Pro offers some great flexibility for travellers as well. As the 14T Pro supports Bluetooth 5.4 users will also be able to take advantage of Hi-res audio streaming thanks to the Hi-res Audio Wireless certification. In testing it works flawlessly and allowed me to maximize the audio listening experience on my Sony WH-1000XM5.
While all these features and hardware put the 14T Pro in flagship territory, the partnership with Leica and its exceptional camera system is what makes the 14T Pro stand out from the competition. Featuring a 50 MP main camera, 50 MP telephoto camera, 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32 MP front camera, the 14T Pro excels as a photographer’s dream device.
The main camera offers an impressive Light Fusion 900 image sensor that delivers on every front—sharpness, dynamic range, and colour depth; it’s all there and on full display. Likewise, the telephoto and ultra-wide cameras bring an impressive level of quality, rounding out the photography experience.

The picture quality is stunning, presenting a true-to-life image. While the lenses perform exceptionally well on their own, Xiaomi’s software suite and AI toolset, which complement the Leica hardware, add a new dynamic to phone photography. Everything from motion tracking focus to onboard filters gives users the creative freedom to take the shot they want with minimal editing.
When running the system in auto mode, the cameras are incredibly quick at adjusting white balance, setting autofocus, and determining shutter speed. The user interface is equally quick and accessible, making swapping between cameras a single-click experience. As a point-and-shoot, the 14T Pro is the best phone camera I’ve used.
“Utilizing its MediaTech 9300+ processor, Xiaomi has fine-tuned the 14T Pro to be a competitivity flagship phone that offers something for everyone.”
It doesn’t stop there either. Night shots are impressively clear and well-lit without overexposing lighter areas or adding significant noise to the image. Other typically difficult shots, such as long exposures, are handled exceptionally well and effortlessly with the 14T Pro. The AI systems also do an incredible job of helping create the perfect bokeh for portrait shots. In fact, there are numerous AI features and settings that help users create beautiful shots every time.

For those who scoff at auto settings on your camera the 14T Pro is still the camera phone I’d recommend. When switched to Pro mode every traditional setting from f-stop to shutter speed can be manually adjusted to help you create the perfect shot. Once you’ve dialed in your settings there is even an option to save it as a preset allowing you to treat it like a filter for future shots. The 14T Pro is a photography phone designed for everyone, from novice to professional.
For those looking to capture their latest video, the 14T Pro has you covered. Capable of shooting up to 8K30 in video mode, the 14T Pro captures stunning footage. Another interesting mode I appreciated was Movie Mode, which limits the camera to 1080p but uses a classic 2.39:1 aspect ratio and bokeh to create a beautiful cinematic feel. For those looking to enhance the quality further, the 14T Pro also offers a MasterCinema mode, which captures content at 10-bit.2020. In layman’s terms, this means you can record in HDR10, offering richer, more detailed video.

The 14T Pro is hands down the best phone for photography and filming I’ve tested to date. From image quality to sheer options and features, the 14T Pro has everything you need to capture professional-level photos and video. Better still, its exceptionally easy to use making it the perfect phone for photographers.
The 14T Pro from manufacturer Xiaomi is a solid Flagship phone. Utilizing its MediaTech 9300+ processor, Xiaomi has fine-tuned the 14T Pro to be a competitive flagship phone that offers something for everyone. From impressive performance to next-level photography, the T14 Pro is a solid update to Xiaomi’s T lineup and one I would highly recommend.
