Brutalist Review Style (Version 2)

I think it’s fair to say that cleaning the house is one of the least enjoyable yet most rewarding tasks. Yeedi is doing its part to make floor cleaning a breeze with the M12 Pro+ Wet/Dry Robot Vacuum. Having used a few robot vacuums and other floor cleaning solutions recently, I thought I’d give this one a shot to see how it gets the job done.

First things first, as always, is getting the thing out of the box. I wasn’t prepared for how big the box was that the M12 Pro+ comes in. It was so big, my kids used it as a fort for about two weeks after I got it. Inside the box, you’ll find the robot vacuum itself, the docking base, along with the clean and dirty water basins, and a couple of spare/replacement parts: a cleaning brush, a main vacuum brush, and a filter. The M12 Pro+ is definitely a big boy.

Once I got it all assembled and positioned where I wanted it, it was time to download the app and map the environment. Thankfully the app is very simple to use and navigate my way through. You can set scheduled cleaning, select what kind of clean you want it to do (dry, wet/dry, vacuum only, mop only), as well as send it out on a whim in case company is coming over in an hour and you need to get things tidy quick.

Naturally, once the environment map was complete, I went in and added a couple of no-go areas that are bound to get the robot trapped on chairs and cords. From there, it was time to set up a daily routine which was the easiest thing yet. In the app, you simply need to go to the Scenarios tab and select the Customize button, choose the room(s) you want to have the robot clean and select what kind of clean you want the M12 Pro+ to do (vacuum, vacuum & mop, etc.), save it, and you’re done.

“Together with the environment mapping, the M12 Pro+ is able to avoid obstacles while getting as close to the edges and corners as possible, ensuring your home gets the best cleaning job it can provide.”

The M12 Pro+ vacuum offers four levels of suction, which are selectable through the app: Quiet Mode, Standard, Strong, and Max, in that order. As expected, Quiet Mode provides the least suction, ideal for light cleaning when there’s loose debris on tile or hardwood floors. As you move up through the suction levels, reaching up to 11,000Pa (pascals) of suction power at Max, the vacuum gets progressively louder. However, this becomes a non-issue if you schedule the Strong or Max cleaning modes for when you’re out of the house.

As for the mopping side of the coin, the M12 Pro+ is well equipped with two scrubbing pads affixed to the robot, and is supplied by the clean water basin on the base. It will fill the on-board water tank and then set off on its cleaning journey, returning to the base to deposit the dirty water. The thing I like the most about the mopping portion, is the water temperature it reaches. The M12 Pro+ can heat the water up to around 158 degree Fahrenheit to ensure that the floors are being cleaned using the cleanest and hottest water it can.

Together with the environment mapping, the M12 Pro+ is able to avoid obstacles while getting as close to the edges and corners as possible, ensuring your home gets the best cleaning job it can provide. When the mopping is done, and the entire cleaning cycle is complete, the vacuum will return to the base and deposit and debris and dirty water in the tanks, and then set to work drying the mop brushes using it’s built-in hot-air drying system that dries the scrub pads at around 113 degrees Fahrenheit to make sure there is no musty or mildewy smells left behind.

The Yeedi M12 Pro+ vacuum features a 5200 mAh battery that will give you roughly 220 minutes of sweeping and vacuuming time on hard floor surfaces on the Standard level of suction. Given that the average cleaning time for my daily clean scheduled event is around 45 minutes, I’d say the battery life in the M12 Pro+ is extraordinary, allowing it to get near any job done in that time. So unless you’re asking it to do a full vacuum of an Amazon warehouse, you should be just fine.

One thing about the Yeedi M12 Pro+ that irks me is the price, and that can be said of almost all vacuums these days, robot or otherwise. The M12 Pro+ comes in at $899.99 USD, which is a lot for something you may not even see doing its job. The payoff is that it does such a good job that it’s worth the money. In my home, we have two cats and two small children, and it has no issues keeping up with whatever ends up on the floor, whether it’s pet hair, or a goldfish cracker here and there. It just does a good job and that’s all I can ask for it to do.
