In the ever-evolving world of smart home devices, robot vacuums have carved out a significant niche. The Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus looks to stand out with its blend of innovative cleaning technology and user-friendly features. As more households look to ease the overall cleaning experience, this model presents a compelling option, but it also has some significant quirks.
Mapping your home is the first thing you will do with any robotic vacuum cleaner. While the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus has impressive cleaning features, its mapping and navigation capabilities leave something to be desired. The vacuum uses sensors on the front and top and two bumpers on the side to navigate, but it sometimes struggles with even the simplest of layouts. When it comes to creating boundaries, sometimes the app simply won’t let you create any, and other times boundaries will cause the Yeedi to skip an entire room, even if it has a clear path in and out of the room.

One of the first things I noticed was how the Yeedi managed to clean the same spot several times for about twenty minutes where there was nothing. This inconsistency can be frustrating, especially for those who expect a thorough clean in one go. That, and chairs, seem to be Yeedi’s biggest rivals, as the Ultra Plus managed to get stuck under my dining room table chairs every single time without failure. I managed to get it in, and I don’t understand why it couldn’t find its way out.
“The design of the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus is sleek and modern; the vacuum cleaner itself is small enough to fit under most coffee tables and some sofas.”
Even having said that, I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic the strengths of the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus are, especially its exceptional cleaning capabilities. Equipped with robust suction power, it effectively tackles various surfaces, from hardwood floors to carpets, with ease. The vacuum automatically detects the type of floor and adjusts its settings accordingly. When it comes to mopping and vacuuming, the robot can also detect when it is on a carpet and knows not to attempt mopping it.
The vacuum cleaner offers several cleaning modes that allow you to customize your cleaning experience. Whether you need a quick touch-up or a more intensive deep clean, the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus has what you need. The vacuum’s mopping function is a notable feature that surprised me while testing. It uses a dual water tank system that separates clean and dirty water, ensuring that your floors are not only vacuumed but also efficiently mopped. This dual-action cleaning significantly improves overall performance, especially on hard surfaces.

The companion app is intuitive and easy to navigate, but incredibly hard to master, allowing you to set cleaning schedules, adjust cleaning modes and monitor the vacuum’s progress in real time. There are settings, such as the 3D environment view, that I was never able to get to work, and I had to redraw my main floor several times after setting boundaries that Yeedi didn’t seem to understand. The Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus supports voice control via smart home devices, so yes, if you want to make friends with your vacuum cleaner, you can now.
“The Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus does an incredible job when it runs right, though its quiet mode quickly shifts to a loud jet-engine sound when returning to base.”
The design of the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus is sleek and modern; the vacuum cleaner itself is small enough to fit under most coffee tables and some sofas. Although the base of the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus is larger to accommodate a water tank, it was still much more compact than I had expected, which helped it to blend in with the aesthetics of the room. The bin capacity is another plus, reducing the frequency of emptying between cleanings. This larger capacity is particularly beneficial for households with pets or heavy foot traffic, as it allows for longer cleaning sessions without interruption.
The battery life of the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus is excellent. It can clean for up to 200 minutes on a single charge, depending on the mode selected. This extended battery life means you can cover larger areas without having to recharge frequently. What’s more, the vacuum cleaner intelligently returns to its charging cradle when the battery is low, so it’s always ready for the next clean.

When it comes to cleaning performance, the Yeedi M12 UltraPlus does an incredible job when it runs right. Not to mention its quiet mode, which is incredibly quiet until it goes into the base and sounds like a jet engine taking off, and the mopping allows for an adjustable amount of water being used as well, so if you have more delicate flooring, it can accommodate for that as well.
All in all, the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus is a robust cleaning solution that combines powerful suction, effective wiping and smart technology. It excels at its core function – cleaning – making it an excellent option for busy households. However, when it comes to the navigation and mapping features, they are not as sophisticated as I had hoped for at its price point.
As a parent of two, I can’t recommend a robot cleaner more highly. For those looking for something powerful and versatile, the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus is a solid choice that can make regular cleaning a lot easier. With improvements to its mapping accuracy, this vacuum could easily rise to the top of its class. Until then, it remains a highly functional option, especially for those who prioritise cleaning efficiency over perfect navigation. If you’re in the market for a robot vacuum cleaner that offers excellent cleaning performance and value for money, the Yeedi M12 Ultra Plus deserves serious consideration. Just be prepared for a few navigation quirks along the way.
