Freedom Wars Is Reminiscent Of Kafka's "The Trial"

Freedom Wars Is Reminiscent Of Kafka's

As if Soul Sacrifice Delta wasn't enough, Sony announced today that the Vita exclusive Freedom Wars will also be making its way to North America as a PlayStation Vita exclusive.

Freedom Wars takes place in the future and somehow involves your character being convicted of living, which is a very vague and unconstructed punishment.

The immediate comparison seems to be Franz Kafka's The Trial, which involves a normal man being arrested and convicted of an unknown crime. While Freedom Wars probably won't reach this artistic height, it's interesting to see it begin with such a bold and unexplained statement.

After being convicted for a sentence of one million years, the character then joins some sort of movement to earn his freedom. The game itself is a third person shooter and has mech enemies not unlike that of Titanfall and Armored Core.

There is also an online mode for up to eight players that allows each individual to fight for their city and bring it up in global rankings.

Freedom Wars is being developed by Shift who are well known for their work on the God Eater series. Sony has also confirmed that the title will be out in North America sometime this year so Vita owners should get excited.
