We all love the Tales series. It’s lasted 20 years after all, they’ve got to be doing something right! To celebrate that Bandai Namco is teasing “massive surprises” for its anniversary.
What that means is unknown right now. But the next instalment, Tales of Zestiria, is still set for a release sometime this year. It’s already out in Japan, so the wait shouldn’t be much longer. Bandai Namco says this title takes the series back to its roots with the medieval setting fans fell in love with, along with the real time combat that made the series so fun from the start.
As for that surprise, the publisher is waiting for the right time to drop that bomb. But, they made a nice video package in the meantime. In this 20
anniversary trailer, they take a look back on their franchise, with each instalment getting a bit of screen time. Now, this could just be a company patting itself on the back, or it could be a subtle hint at an HD remastered collection! That’s 14 games all together—15 if you count Tales of Zestiria. So maybe it’s not the most realistic idea, but it would be so awesome if they did. So we'll keep our fingers crossed.
More realistically, it would be a big western release for Tales of Zestiria along with some anniversary content. But I won't let my dream die!
What do you think? Would you buy an HD collection of the Tales series?
