In testing, the 7800 XT traded blows with the RTX 4070 in traditional rasterization workloads while falling behind in ray tracing performance. But the value proposition becomes quite tempting when you consider the $499 price point, which massively undercuts the RTX 4070. Content creators should also take note of the media capabilities enabled by AMD’s Adrenalin software and Media Engine, and the 7800 XT can easily handle video editing, streaming, and recording tasks.
For the gamer or creative pro looking for strong 1440p performance without breaking the bank, the Radeon 7800 XT shapes up as a mighty fine offering from Team Red. The ray tracing gap remains a concern, but with the price-to-performance ratio AMD is offering here, this GPU earns a solid recommendation in my book.

WD Black SN770 SSD
The WD Black SN770 SSD offers fast performance at an affordable price. Using the PCIe 4.0 interface to achieve sequential read speeds of up to 5150MB/s, the WD Black SN770 SSD manages some fantastic benchmarks considering the price. While write speeds slow after the SLC cache fills, performance remains responsive for most real-world use cases.
The SN770 uses host memory buffering instead of DRAM, which helps to keep costs down. But thanks to the powerful Phison E18 controller, it still offers low queue depth performance on par with more expensive options. Gamers and content creators will benefit from faster game and project load times compared to SATA or PCIe 3.0 drives. As long as you don’t need sustained performance for extremely large file transfers, the SN770 offers excellent value for money. The WD Black SN770 SSD would make a great Christmas gift for handheld gamers this year.

It retains everything that made the MX Master line the gold standard for productivity.
