Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023) is the latest entry in Activision’s long-running first-person shooter franchise. Developed by Sledgehammer Games, it continues the rebooted Modern Warfare storyline that began in 2019. The game features a single-player campaign that follows Task Force 141 as they hunt down the Russian ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov.
The campaign introduces new “Open Combat Missions” that give players more freedom to approach objectives. These missions aim to blend traditional linear Call of Duty gameplay with more open-ended level design.
